According to internet reports, 30 Seconds To Mars frotnman Jared Leto saved fans from an alleged suicide bomber last night in Los Angeles.
Fans were gathered at The Hive in West Hollywood for a special screening of a new 30 Seconds To Mars documentary when, at approximately 8:30PM, a young man in a black hooded top stormed into the venue. He pushed his way to the front of the room and dropped a large box covered in gold wrapping paper at Leto’s feet.
When the singer asked him to leave the stage, the unidentified male said “It’s time for a little self-help” and is then said to have allegedly muttered something about having explosives. Upon hearing this, Leto wrestled with the man and dragged him out of the room.
“[It was] weird,” said one eyewitness. “Everyone in the room watched him walk toward Jared. Jared said ‘Someone stop him’ three or four times, but no one did. The guy got to Jared, dropped the box on the floor and started to give a speech. Jared grabbed him by the shoulders and basically [dragged] him out the back door."
The alleged bomber was restrained by the band’s security guards until the police and bomb disposal experts arrived.
“I just finished with the police,” Leto wrote on his Twitter at 11PM last night. “They cleared five blocks and brought in the bomb squad and [sniffer] dogs.”

Ok first i want to say this is obviously staged.
Second. i want to say is that im a profiler in Ireland and i profiled Suicide Bombers how they react there behavioural this is clearly somone Jered Leto Knows becase (A). if it was a bomb the Supposenly bomber wouldve known not to throw the bomb onto the group.

I was there and the hive holds 200 people. Imagine all them running for the door. Obviously Jared didn't want panic to take over so he dealt with it. In a calm way I have to add. "leto wrestled with the man and dragged him out of the room", is quite obviously a major dramatization of what actually happened; but i suppose if this guy is a suicide bomber, or even just some random box-wielding crazy guy, jared leto was brave. did they actually figure out if he really had a bomb or any other weapons? anyway, good job jared!!

It wasn't an act to boost their performance but i don't think it was real either. I mean having suicide bombers at their shows isn't very inviting is it? It's not like the band advertised it, it's just being attacked by the media. Think, if you had read this in a magazine without seeing the video you'd be pretty amazed

Jared acted rationally and quickly to get the problem removed so if something were to happen the people there would not be injured. I imagine that the bomb squad was called to avoid any potential dangerous situation, you never know these days with unmarked packages.
Kudos to Jared for what he did and how quickly he acted on the situation.

This is weird... Where were the security guards and why did they let him through? A band as big as 30STM with an actor as a frontman would obviously be more protected than that so unless the security men knew him... He said something that sounded like "old friends" to Jared too. i love 30 seconds to mars and jered leto but come on, but:
1) who the fuck is gunna throw a bomb like that,even suicide bomber would take care of the box that containd a 'bomb' .
2) he's a singer/actor why did he react to the box? he gets gifts lke that all the time but suddenly this box made him scared wtf like.
3) Even a calm person would act like that there was no hint of being scared, look at peple who have guns to their head, they act calm but you can still see fear in their eyes

Decadent Western dogs, if a suicide bomber was going to blow up this worthless band, or anyone else, they simply walk as close as they can to their target, and detonate.

Check out MTV's website for hearing what Jared has to say about it all. According to him it certainly wasn't a big deal as media has turned it into, but it sure as hell wasn't staged. He handled the situation perfectly but maybe next time he should hire some security guards in case the stranger has a weapon.

Ok so K! are obviously exaggerating but cmon why would this be staged? I don't think the bomb squad would turn up to something that's been staged! Surely if 30 Seconds To Mars did think about having some random guy walk in with a mysterious box and say something about explosives they would think about the aftermath! saw this in the magazine- it really isn't that exciting. when i heard it did just sound like total bull, but face it, we won't ever really know if it was staged and I'm not going to say what i think either way because most will probably just start bawling at me- to be honest it's just as likely to have been staged as to not have- stranger things have happened.
what strikes me most is that such a big deal was made out of this- sure the situation was dealt with, no one was hurt, fine, OK. move on.
i think i'm most annoyed by how the story was reported- i don't mean to offend whoever wrote it, but when writing about something, it's all well and good to jazz it up a bit with some nice adjectives, but stick to the facts, eh? The guy was more sort of marched off, rather than "Wrestled with" and "dragged out".
