Oh kerrang. Your unending bumming of crap bands is astounding yet not surprising.

Haha, can't wait to hear Forever the Sickest Kids attempt the Crazy Train solo :P
Also, never hear of NeverShoutNever, but the fact that they're attempting to cover Bohemian Rhapsody is an automatic fail

awesome list of bands :)
also the pretentious criticism of bands people know, and posts along the lines of "what the hell is this kerrang" are getting tiresome, their reporting news! if people hate so many of these posts, their clearly not part of kerrang's current demographic and should change sites

this is totally unnecessary, because there's just no way any of these will be anywhere as near as good as the origonal. sadly, classic rock is mostly dead and buried, it doesnt need scene bands failing to breathe life into them...because when people remember 'we are the champions' they should remember queen, not friggin mayday parade. sort it out.

Oh Kerrang! you silly billy. You've got those two subcultures of "punk" and "emo" mixed up again you silly sausage.

This is all scene/emo music, not punk music that doesn't ever quite grasp what anarchism really is as an ideology...

Oh K!, will you ever stop being so silly?

(Note: Yes, I'm being really patronising and sarcastic).

all of these bands are great! maybe you should give it a chance before you start bashing them!

1) Forever The Sickest Kids have 3 vocal guys who can burn the faces off of anyone who listens- so their crazy train solo is going to rock

2) The Maine has already done Def Leopard at their shows and its awesome as hell!

3)NevershoutNever rocks and Chris' vocals are gonna be the shiz on Bohemian Rhaposdy

4)Give me Every Avenue any day of the week, This band is from my home state, dont be hatin!

and as for the rest of the bands Ive seen them all at least once, and they all put on amazing shows and have amazing vocals.

"DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!!!!"

get over it. This CD is going to rock. :)

this is such a crap idea, i dont think people grasp that. i mean, for one 'punk' is not the word to describe any of these bands; try 'scene' or 'pop'. but when you look at some of the songs there attempting to cover, eg, bohemian rhapsody and crazy train, theres just no way any of these bands could hope to tackle a classic. i wont pretend to be a fan of many of the bands on here, but ive seen versaemerge and they were good, ill see mayday parade when they support madina lake, and every avenue at slam dunk, but theres no need to cover songs which the bands can't ever hope to be better than the original. i dont think freddie mercury would appreciate one of the finest songs ever written being butchered by an a haircut and an acoustic guitar. this needs a name change to; 'pop kills classic rock' methinks

Oh my goth, why can't people just leave Dream On alone?

Posted by Grace | February 26, 2010 10:19 PM | Reply to this

also, wheres the fucking punk in pop-punk? none of the bands can claim to be punk....in fact they probably dont even know who Rancid or NOFX are. shit idea, shit name. thats all.

erm.... how does the fact that FTSK have 3 good vocalists mean that their Crazy Train solo will be good?
logic fail

Blessthefall <3
Should be good :P

To the people who keep postin comments about Kerrang's choice in news posts, bands featured and albums mentioned - You might aswell stop goin on this website, the target demographic does not include you so if you wouldn't mind.... jog on.
The 'Punk goes....' albums are just a bit of harmless fun and always have been - no one is claiming that these songs will beat the originals, but it'll be good to see what modern bands do to put their own twist on it. Stop moaning, stop complaining that the bands Kerrang feature are no longer leather wearing, perm sporting, greasebags. Piss off to MetalHammer.com

the free fallin cover beats the original..

Ergh, more people to butcher Queen songs. As if Jedward wasn't enough, now there is NeverShoutNever.

I normally like these 'punk' bands doing the cover albums. But i'm not sure this one will work. Ah well, guess we will have to wait. We might be surprised!

great line up, and to all those thinking its going to be postitively "shit", go and get some courage and do this sorta stuff yourself then, because i bet a million dollars you cant beat them. and, i'll be another thousand dollars you've never even listened to Every Avenue or VersaEmerge or Blessthefall. besides my rant, I cannot wait to hear this, especially ftsk version of crazy train (:
