The King Blues pull out of Slam Dunk

The King Blues have been forced to pull out of this year’s Slam Dunk festival due to the imminent birth of frontman Itch’s first child.

“We're very, very sorry to announce that we have had to pull out of this year's Slam Dunk Festival,” said the band in an official statement. “It's not a decision we take lightly but there was genuinely nothing we could do about it.

“We had an amazing time last year, with some killer bands and a great atmosphere of fantastic kids and we're gutted we won't get to see this festival evolve into the two day mashup it has now become,” the statement continues. “Sorry to anyone who was planning on watching us and to all involved.."

The festival organisers say a “suitable replacement will be announced shortly.”

Slam Dunk 2010 is set to take place at the University of Hertfordshire on May 29 and at Leeds University on May 30 and will feature sets from New Found Glory, Four Year Strong, Capdown, Set Your Goals, RX Bandits, The Rocket Summer, Fireworks, Breathe Carolina, Out Of Sight and Every Avenue.

Tickets are on sale now from www.aloud.com.

Gutted about them pulling out, but so fucking happy for Itch!
Hopefully his kid will be as much of a poetic genius as he is :)

Woo! Congrats Itch. Can't wait to see them in April though, which Kerrang haven't mentioned the tour :P

It kinda saddens me to see that picture though, with Fruitbag! WHICH THEY HAVEN'T MENTIONED HE'S LEFT EITHER! Along with Johnny Rich.

Apparently according to Jamie though, Ade is a fantastic guitarist and they're stronger then ever. Stoked.

wow, 'pete' you're so ungrateful.
his child is due the exact weekend of slam dunk, hence pulling out.
'still going on tour' yes but not the weekend of his babys birth!!!!!

some people, seriously.

Having seen the King Blues live and as I'm going to Slam Dunk, this is great news. They're absolutely awful and put on a terrible show.

Hopefully someone with a decent show, or even just a decent song or two, will fill the slot and I can enjoy myself at the gig.
