With Slipknot on hiatus, guitarist Jim Root and frontman Corey Taylor are busy with their other band, Stone Sour, percussionist Shawn 'The Clown' Crahan is playing drums with his side-project, Dirty Little Rabbits, and drummer Joey Jordison is recording a new album with Murderdolls.
Now percussionist Chris Fehn has revealed what he's doing with his downtime: Playing bass in cult Sacramento screamers Will Haven.
"[We are] happy to say we have found our new bass player and we are more than excited about it," said the band in an official statement. "Our long-time brother and close friend Chris Fehn has joined the family. He is here with us tonight recording for the new demo and already has had tons of input making this record even more amazing, so we are more than stoked to have him with us.
"Slipknot is taking some extended time off while they concentrate on side projects but when they are ready to work on the new record Chris will be right back to work with them," the statement continues. "Until then we will be recording the new record and playing shows in US and Europe."
Fehn replaces Mike Martin who has had to leave the band to take care of his family.
Will Haven's as-yet-untitled follow up to 2007's The Hierophant will be released later this year through Bieler Bros.
