Former Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren has died aged 64.
McLaren, along with ex-wife Dame Vivienne Westwood, helped launch the punk movement back in the '70s.
He was diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer last October and passed away yesterday (April 8) in Switzerland. He is survived by his partner of 12 years, Young Kim, 38, and son, Joseph Corre, the co-founder of lingerie chain Agent Provocateur.
Corre told the BBC that funeral arrangements have not yet been made, but his father wanted to be buried in London's Highgate Cemetery.
Vivienne Westwood has paid tribute to her former husband by saying:
"When we were young and I fell in love with Malcolm, I thought he was beautiful and I still do."
While his son added: "He was the original punk rocker who revolutionised the world. He's somebody I'm incredibly proud of. He's a real beacon of man for people to look up to."
Former Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon, who had an acrimonious relationship with McLaren, has also paid tribute to his former friend.
"For me Malc was always entertaining, and I hope you remember that," said Lydon in an official statement. "Above all else he was an entertainer and I will miss him, and so should you."
