Sum 41 cancel European shows

Canadian pop punks Sum 41 have been forced to cancel several forthcoming European tour dates. It is understood that drummer Steve Jocz broke his arm in a car accident.

"[He] is unable to get on a airplane to fly to Europe to perform," reads an official statement from the band. "Anyone who knows our band, knows that touring is our life and is the primary reason we play music. We are completely and utterly bummed out and we all wish Stevo a speedy recovery. We want to sincerely apologise to our fans in the cities we can't make it to and we promise to return to them in a few months. We will reschedule any dates that we unfortunately had to cancel in Europe ASAP. See you all soon."

The band have recently completed work on their follow-up to 2007's Underclass Hero.

No offence, but why can't they just get a cover drummer? I remember one time when MCR had the guitarist and drummer out of action, they continued touring with covers. Bit of a rash reaction, to cancel loads of dates when you have a simple solution.

@kiwi their first show is tomorrow.. try finding a cover drummer that fast... and try to teach him how to play all the songs when you're probably in the hospital supporting your band member..

^ a good session drummer could play from the sheets, all they would need is basic knolege of the songs

Why is everyone being horrible about them saying stuff like 'shame it wasn't their necks'. Unlike you (prick) we know what good music is and we all wish that stevo gets better soon! :)
