After receiving the lion's share of your votes, Bullet For My Valentine, 30 Seconds To Mars, Paramore and You Me At Six are set to battle it out at The Relentless Energy Drink Kerrang! Awards 2010 at the end of July.
30 Seconds To Mars and Paramore have scored four nominations each and will go head-to-head in the Best Video, Best Album, Best Live Band and Best International Band categories at the star-studded ceremony, which is set to take place at a top secret location in London on Thursday, July 29, and will be hosted by Corey Taylor and Scott Ian.
"Thank you so much to every single one of you for the relentless and tireless voting," 30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto tells Kerrang!. "We are very grateful to be nominated, this is the doing of the Echelon. It's no secret that we have a very special relationship with a wonderful family of vagabonds travelling the world with us. This slightly dysfunctional and always inspiring motley crew are quite unlike anything I could appropriately describe, but we are so proud to share this epic adventure with them. They are our family and without them there would be no Mars."
"We're so stoked our fans voted for us in all these categories!" added Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams. "I'm especially excited to be nominated for Best Live Band. That means the world! We really appreciate the nominations and we can't wait to come back to the UK this winter and properly thank them."
You Me At Six and Bullet For My Valentine have been nominated for three awards each including Best Album and British Band. YM@6 also picked up a nomination for Best Single for Liquid Confidence, while Bullet's incendiary performance at the Download festival earlier this month earned the Welsh metallers a nomination for Best Live Band.
"A few years ago we sat in a room full of our idols and we were nominated for Best British Newcomer, and I remember looking at all these bands who were up for multiple awards thinking, 'Wow, they're so lucky, they have so many fans supporting them'," You Me At Six frontman Josh Franceschi tells K!. "And this year we are one of those bands! We feel so lucky to have the fans we do, who are always supporting us throughout everything, so thank you, thank you and thank you again. That's a 'thank you' for each nomination!"
"It's an absolute honour to be nominated for three Kerrang! Awards this year!," adds Bullet For My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck. "Kerrang! always throw the best parties, so you can be sure it's going to be a night of pure rock 'n' roll mayhem... We can't wait, bring in on!"
Green Day, Biffy Clyro and Lostprophets also polled highly, picking up two nominations apiece. For the full list of nominations, see below.
"The competition is now getting tough!" says Kerrang! Editor Nichola Browne. "U.S. superstars Paramore, Green Day and 30 Seconds To Mars are going head-to-head with the biggest and best homegrown talent; Lostprophets, Bullet For My Valentine, You Me At Six and Biffy Clyro. But, as always, you lot, the Kerrang! readers, hold the power when it comes to deciding who will walk away with one of our coveted K! trophies on July 29. So get voting!"
