Iron Maiden unveil details of The Final Frontier!

Iron Maiden have announced details of their forthcoming album, The Final Frontier.

The band recorded their follow-up to 2006's A Matter Of Life And Death earlier this year at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas and The Cave Studios in Malibu, California with producer Kevin Shirley.

Even though the album will be released on August 16, fans can now get their hands on a free download of the song El Dorado via the band's official website, www.ironmaiden.com.

"As we'll be including it in the set of our Final Frontier World Tour, we thought it would be great to thank all our fans and get them into The Final Frontier mood by giving them this song up front of the tour and album release," says vocalist Bruce Dickinson.

In addition to El Dorado, The Final Frontier will also feature: Satellite 15... The Final Frontier, Mother Of Mercy, Coming Home, The Alchemist, Isle Of Avalon, Starblind, The Talisman, The Man Who Would Be King, When The Wild Wind Blows.

The Final Frontier World Tour begins in Dallas on June 9 with 25 shows across North America. The band will then return to Europe for a run of headline dates, including the Sonisphere Festival at Knebworth on August 1.

"We're hugely excited about this tour," says bassist Steve Harris. "I think the fans will really like the brand new stage production - Eddie has changed a bit for this tour but is possibly the most outrageous one to date. I can't say too much about him as don't want to spoil the surprise, but I guarantee he will scare the hell out of you!"

That was the longest commute ever! Saw your tweet when I left home, and have just in front of a computer to download the song!

Thanks Kerrang! :-)

The new song sounds terrible. Even worst than the last album. I heard they are playing the whole album & no classics again this tour?

The severs have been busy as hell, hence why some downloads aren't working. Be persistent and you'll get it.

Mick. Don't know where you've heard that, no-one knows the set list is until the first show of the tour.
And to be fair, they did play about 6 or 7 classics on the AMOLAD tour at the end of the set.

Personally I'd rather hear the new album than hear RTTH, FOTD, 2M2M, The Trooper, HBTN, TNOTB, TETMD, etc etc at EVERY FUCKING MAIDEN GIG EVER!

They did a greatest hits album and played a greatest hits set for it. If they're touring a new album then I want to hear the new album live, a few classic's thrown in is fine. But not a whole set of nostalgic bullshit that we've all hear a million times before.
