Nothing to interest me this week. I'm waiting not-so-patiently for another Emilie Autumn feature--a cover would be awesome. Hint hint...

I first saw Frank Turner when he opened for Flogging Molly a few months back. I was blown away and bought both of his albums that night. He's got amazing lyrics, and an amazing sound. If you haven't checked him out yet, do so. You're missing out.

Followed Frank since he was performing in a living room in Newcastle after "Sleep is for the Week". His time has come i believe to really shine, just hope he doesnt sell himself out to the masses and sacrifice his amazing and very clever music for something more... "mainstream".

Frank is AMAZING! I've been a huge fan for a couple years now but he doesn't tour the US very often. Listen to his music before you call it "bleh"... or maybe you don't have a soul.

This sounds like a good issue :)
Darn you Kerrang, you're putting a (small) hole in my Sonisphere savings XD

Posted by Ben | June 22, 2010 7:58 PM | Reply to this

Kind of a rough issue for me. Might read the Dillinger K! Quiz real quick in the shop though. :D

Posted by Gary | June 22, 2010 10:45 PM | Reply to this

I'm with Gary, not worth buying really, shall read it while walking through Tescos. Sorry Kerrang, maybe next week ;)

Posted by Lee | June 23, 2010 12:55 AM | Reply to this

The review for The Little Million is bullshit! They deserve much better than 2 K's!

Posted by Luke | June 23, 2010 10:18 AM | Reply to this

Cheers for the Matt tuck and Slash posters, they're looking rather lovely on my wall >:D

How mainstream can Kerrang get?

Posted by Liza | June 23, 2010 11:28 AM | Reply to this

BEST ISSUE IN AGES! Frank Turner on the cover is fantastic, finally!

We saw Frank open for Flogging Molly and have bought his cds for so many people, I love Frank Turner, he is so much better than 3/4 of these people you hear.

i think you should do an interview with asking alexandria they are amazing :P

Frank Turner sucked in my opinion when i saw legends Green Day at Wembley, which was their biggest gig they have done!! Frank was suppose to gear us up, we were all bored and wanting to leave, his predictive lyrics and depressing songs is enough to make you sick. Sorry if some disagree but want to be happy at a gig not sad, Thank god for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts...

Posted by Adele | June 23, 2010 3:46 PM | Reply to this

AGREED!

Posted by Ali | June 23, 2010 7:27 PM | Reply to this

I was agreeing with what was said about the review for The Little Million! Typical bad review from Kerrang for an unknown band! Saw them support Feeder....AMAZING! Sort it out Kerrang! The Little Million are GREAT!

Posted by Ali | June 23, 2010 7:29 PM | Reply to this

are you kidding me??!! Turner is amazing at what he does, touring his arse all over the world for some years now to get his music out there. From sleeping on peoples couches to playing Wembley with his full band opening for Green Day is a little sweet victory won by Frank and one that is well deserved! Frank puts his heart into what he loves to do and doesn't take it for granted. Mr. Turner is a man that believed he could... "You are what you believe"...

Frank was awful live! Green Day FTW

Posted by Kirsty | June 23, 2010 9:13 PM | Reply to this

Frank Rules. check his track on the Kerbdog Tribute abum. awesome

Posted by Jess | June 23, 2010 9:33 PM | Reply to this

Andymark, why dont you go die? Ozzy is God, and without him there would be no metal.

Posted by Ross | June 23, 2010 9:58 PM | Reply to this

This kerrang wasn't very good at all. Only the posters were good.

Posted by Dannny | June 23, 2010 10:56 PM | Reply to this

Hey BMTH is the most awesome band in the world. Oli skyes, keep rokin on and screamo till ur lungs give out, like i do!!

Posted by BMTH | June 23, 2010 11:13 PM | Reply to this

@ =)
ok ok, i see what you mean, but seriously he needs to cheer up, at the gig, he appeared as happy, then said about death, sleeping on a couch (oddly enough) and a song called "photosynthesis", give me a break...
@ Ross
Right on, now sadly of Dio's passing, Ozzy is next to the thrown. Ozzfest in Sept, YAY!

2 K's for The Little Million? Pull the other one!!?? Bad call on that review....the two singles they released were great!

@Will Vincent
I know, i know i saw you lucky devils, hope there is more of us from Wembley!?
Awesome for you guys :-)

Posted by Adele | June 24, 2010 1:21 PM | Reply to this

I think that Frank Turner deserved the cover.

When I heard that he was supporting Green Day, I wasn't that impressed and didn't expect him to be that good.

But when I went to Wembley to see Green Day, I thought that he was a really good opening act, considering that the genre of music that he writes/sings is a different one to the things that I usually listen to.

Brilliant concert from all three; Frank Turner, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Green Day :)

Cymro2010, you should stand in front of a train for your blasphems against the god father of metal, you narrow minded git.

Posted by Ed | June 25, 2010 8:51 AM | Reply to this

Woah, can I just ask why the hell Kerrang covered the Manchester gig instead of Wembley? FFS, it was much bigger and better there! Best gig of my life so far!
Ozzy IS a legend, but if he's still going with his music, more love from us Brummies. x

Posted by ChazzyChaz | June 25, 2010 4:07 PM | Reply to this

@ChazzyChaz
I agree.
I was gutted that Manchester was covered and not Wembley. :(

Some of these comments are a bit harsh!

Frank Turner is possibly one of the most hard working solo artists in the music industry.

Frank Turner supported The Offspring in the U.S last year and has recently toured with Greenday on another successful UK tour which is pretty damn good for one guy.

His band Million Dead fell apart five years ago and he came back with a bang! I really wish people would appreciate the hard work that solo artists go through as oppose to requesting more mainstream nonsense like Lostprophets who seem to be getting worse as they release more albums.

Where as Frank Turner is on a constant high!

Personally I think this is a good issue this week and the story of Frank Turner is awesome! Cheers Kerrang!

Good issue, loved the posters!

saw frank turner opening for green day at wembley, and honestly predicted he would be pretty lame due to him just being 'a guy with an acoustic guitar' ,the size of the venue, and the fact that we all just wanted to see green day.
but wow. totally fell in love with his music, thought he was so refreshing with great lyrics and loads of passion. love him!
hope next kerrang will talk about the wembley gig - it was so perfect it could have a whole issue to itself.
at least one poster, please kerrang?

Posted by Georgi | June 28, 2010 4:24 PM | Reply to this

I don't see Paramore mentioned in this issue at all. But your're right, for once they're not in it.

Posted by Karlossssssss | June 29, 2010 2:39 PM | Reply to this

Yeah I heard that Wembley was bigger and better. But I'm glad they covered Manchester 'cos I was there. Even more so 'cos it was my first Green Day gig after waiting for 5 years. And no I'm not one of those kids that got hooked on Green Day cos of American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown :)

Posted by Karlossssssss | June 29, 2010 2:45 PM | Reply to this

Frank has done so well for himself. I mean, I saw him back in February 2007 in the smallest venue EVER in Southampton and it wasn't even sold out :-/. Now look at him! he's amazing. :). I do miss those tiny venues though... :( <3
