My Chemical Romance frontman unveils ambitious new art project

My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way has revealed details of an ambitions new art project he's undertaking.

Way says he wants fans to paint pictures of his brother, My Chemical Romance bassist Mikey Way, and present them to him on the band's next tour.

"During the entire duration of our next tour I will be collecting fan made paintings of Mikey Way either in acrylic or oil, or on canvas or board." he said. "I want enough to fill an entire room!

"Portraits are preferable but I will also accept on-stage full figure shots," he added. "Drawings won't do me no good - I need colour! I will also accept collages and digital prints as long as they aren't just a picture run through a Photoshop filter - that's a no no!"

"You can also send the paintings to Jeff Watson, Sr. Director of New Media, Warner Bros records 3300 Warner Blvd, Burbank, Ca, 91505, USA."

My Chemical Romance are currently working on follow-up to 2006's The Black Parade. The as-yet-untitled album will be released later this year.

Damn, i really wish i could paint or do any form of art. Yet knowing my luck I wouldn't even be able to get tickets to see them live. Oh well, I'm sure going to try damn hard to paint Mikey and get tickets when they do go on sale!

It may be old news to people who like Twitter and follow MCR, but some people don't like Twitter and have a massive fangirl squee when they see this (like me). And for all the haters- why are you here? You're reading a story about a band you don't like and have prejudiced views against, and then putting that in the comments. Why? You must realise that practically everybody who sees your comment will hate on you, what you're doing is pointless! It's just a fun competition!

And if you can't wait for them to make the best album they can, then you aren't worthy to listen to the final product. Who gives a fuck if it's delayed? Wait and it'll be better.

Omg Frankie is the best, I can't wait for their new album. The aren't wrist cutting emo freaks, they stand against emo cults and whatnot. Why do people have to label My Chemical Romance as emo? They never tell people to slit their wrists and kill themselves, in actual fact they are totally against that. The songs they sing relate to the dark times people go through in their lives and they discover through the MCR songs that they aren't alone in feeling this way. In fact, one of their lyrics is "I am not afraid to keep on living." Please don't hate on bands when you don't understand the true indepth meanings behind their songs. My Chemical Romance has never stood up for death or suicide. Do your research.

i have hand drawn about 40 amazing drawings of mcr! But i can't really use oil paints, just watercolour. Am 13 so yeahh, mcr are amazing! :D so bog off you stupid haters!!!!!
