Stuart Cable found dead

Former Stereophonics drummer and Kerrang! Radio DJ Stuart Cable was found dead at his Aberdare home this morning (June 7). He was 40 years old.

South Wales Police have not confirmed the cause of death, but have established there are no suspicious circumstances.

"Stuart has travelled all over the world with the band and I have worried myself silly," said his mother Mabel. "He is now settled down and then this has happens. It has not sunk in yet."

The drummer's brother Paul, added: "The family has no further comment to make at this stage. It is in the hands of the police."

Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.

A good man who helped out charities and played in a band that I really enjoyed when I was younger. Shame to see him passing away when still so young.

Hopefully people can forget about the split from the 'phonics and his umm... "chequered" past and remember him as a talented, generous man who did a lot of good and played some good music.

My son and I had the privilege of meeting Stuart at stick it to MS last year. He had his kit set up amongst all of us ordinary people unlike most of the other so called "stars"
I asked him why he wasn't on stage with all the other superstars and his reply was "I'm no f***ing superstar"
We sat and talked with him for over an hour, talking about Stereophonics, his new band, motocross, road bikes, his old Harley, all sorts of stuff.
He was a legend, a truly genuine bloke, and loved his fans. Most of all, you could approach him and be welcomed.
God bless you Stuart. you'll be greatly missed

Please, grow a pair, move out of your mums basement and stop trolling. No one likes you or cares about you, thats why you're desperately attention seeking. Hope you understand that when people die, people are upset. Maybe you will understand one day, when someone close to you dies.

My Wife and I will never forget meeting you at band signing in Cardiff in 2001 for release of J.E.E.P. Morfa was one of the best gigs I ever went to and such fond memories of rocking out with the axe along to Perf.& Cocktails when that came out. Couldnt believe it when you came and sat next to me and kids outside Bavarian bar with huge beers in DownTown Disney in Paris. Huge smile and friendly down to earth gestures reflected by all who post here. Rest Easy and RIP Welsh Brother.
Concur that this is becoming a bad year for critical illness' and death amonst the Rock Fraternity. A very bad few months indeed, No more now!?
