There going to be a lot of excited school children and some some angry parents who have to give them pocket money to see this piece of shit band.

Posted by David | July 30, 2010 12:00 PM | Reply to this

If you dont like the band theres no point in commenting about them everyone has different taste in music and everyones opinion about the band will be different. I've seen them live once before and in my opinion they were amazing wiL has a great stage presence and gets the audience hyped up. On the other hand i know people who think they're absolute shite. Leave the band alone (:

vikki...
sorry, but thats not all that makes a good live band.

Aidens first album was incredible, and live, frantic, powerful and very good.

but sorry, for a band with as much following, and as many albums, to barely manage to choke out 11 songs at headline shows...

pretty pathetic.

fucking love this! :D
gutted they're not coming to sheffield but manchester/leeds it is :')
they're proper amazing live and i cant wait to see them again!!

No Bristol date :(
Looks like I'll be going to Yeovil instead then.

Posted by Dee | July 30, 2010 4:43 PM | Reply to this

well ive seen aiden dozens of times since 2004 and they are allways amazing and 11 songs pretty sure they do more but even 11 songs is more than most bands do.
and yes first album is powerful but they also made that what 7 years ago nearly there music is going to change over the years who wants to preform the same songs over again so yeh there live shows are differant at the end of the day dont like them dont go on the link and piss people who clearly like aiden off :)
chow darlin'

Posted by becki | July 30, 2010 10:24 PM | Reply to this

you dont no shit thats a fact darlin'

Posted by becki | July 30, 2010 10:26 PM | Reply to this

Rob i wasn't saying thats what makes them a great band i was just saying how peoples opinions are different i've seen alot of bands live that make alot of great albums but then they play terrible gigs. I think it's not quantity of songs they play that matters it's the quality of the performance and how enjoyable they make it after all you don't wanna pay for a ticket then come away thinking "damnn that was crap" i'd rather go to a gig that takes the time to interact with the people there than just play song after song like theres no one else at the venue.

Got my Norwich ticket, gonna be the best since it's the last tour date!

Hopefully buying my tickets for Norwich soon. Never seen Aiden before as I've only recently discovered them. Can't wait. :D

Omg going to see them in King Tuts for my 14th birthday ! cant wait x I love Aiden & WiL is super stunning ! Eeeek cant wait !!

@vikki...
a fair point.
but my opinion, you got to have a happy medium.
every band that makes albums should be able to play live, straight, other wise, dont bother.
but playing 11 songs out of so many albums is going to leave people dissapointed at every gig, unlike bands like NFG, who interact with their crowd brilliantly, and play 20+ songs every time.

Green Day, 30 songs + every time...

11, even with interaction with the crowd, is a piss take.

Posted by ROB | August 2, 2010 10:24 AM | Reply to this

@Rob i can see where you're coming from but Green Day are a very popular band that play in big arenas and for a much longer time then smaller bands like Aiden that arent as well known. Alot of bands i've seen play at the waterfront don't manage to play over 11 songs due to not being able to stay on stage past 11 oclock and also have 2 or 3 support bands play before them so they are limited to a certain amount of time.. In my opinion 11 songs is a decent amount for smaller venue. I personally havent seen a band play at a bigger venue or arena so i can see why you'd be unsatisfied so lets agree to disagree (:

Posted by Vikki | August 2, 2010 5:09 PM | Reply to this

dont get me wrong, i comPLETELY understand certain bands in smaller venues playing 10 songs due to time, lack of material, ETC.
but specificlally aiden, who i saw at the Astoria (2000 +), with easily enough time, and they played like, 10 songs..
the used (one of my fav bands) only played 13 songs in a bigger venue as well... just feels like a bit of rip for money, paying 15quid for a gig, and getting like, 10 songs..
but hey, if your happy, then at least the gig woulda been good =P

Posted by ROB | August 2, 2010 5:20 PM | Reply to this

OMG i love The Used they're my favourite band :D Something we actually agree on haha. I would have been disapointed too if a band i saw had plenty enough time but didnt play enough songs i'd be pretty pissed off. I saw five finger death punch last november they were insane and the gig went on for a very long time :3

Posted by Vikki | August 2, 2010 5:27 PM | Reply to this

ahhh 5FDP...
Amazing band.
As are the Used =D

Rob

Bands and venues both differ in what they are allowed/can play. The reason Green Day can play 30+ songs in a singular set is because of the venue, they play in venues that are normally outdoor arena types when there are no surrounding houses. At Norwich where I will be going to see Aiden, there are several houses around which is why Aiden can only go onto a certain time and the time in between bands playing differs.

not true tom
bands decide what to play.

green day played wembley, and played 30 songs.
paramore played, and did 15.

is down to the band mainly.

Posted by rob | August 2, 2010 7:01 PM | Reply to this

There seems to be quite a debate over their choice of venue xD Aiden doesnt have much money due to being sued by one of their previous members so i dont think they would be able to play large venues like wembley. But what Tom is saying is true The Waterfront is surrounded by housing estates and often we've been told they're unable to play past 11 due to laws about loud music past a certain hour it sucks tbh if they were able to play past 11 i'm sure bands would be able to play more songs.
But i'm not fussed i havent yet had a bad experience seeing a gig at the watefront thats excluding Soil Work! They're utter shite.

Posted by Vikki | August 2, 2010 7:19 PM | Reply to this

vikki hun
every venue in the country, from waterfront to wembley stadium has a curfew of 11pm.
every single venue.

finally... its NOTHING TO GO WITH VENUE. ITS THE BAND.
sorry ;)

Posted by rob | August 2, 2010 7:32 PM | Reply to this

Ah i apologise i didn't know if the time was different in different areas of the country.
I wouldn't say it depends completely on the band some finish earlier then others but then again it does depend on the amount of songs they have on their set list. I'm seeing Architects this year aswell and they have 4 support bands so i doubt Architects themselves will be playing for very long due to the amount of support so i guess that is a contributing factor too (:

Posted by Vikki | August 2, 2010 7:36 PM | Reply to this

true bands with more support tend to play less.

tho can work the other way.

architects could give you a good 14/15 song set there,

great band.
again =p

Not true Rob

I know some people who have gone to different venues around the U.K and the gig has gone on longer than 11pm. For instance 5FDP at the waterfron told the whole crowd that they were not going to stop playing songs because of the curfew and they did nopt. FFAF also told the crowd that at another venue they were told they could only play a 50 minute set as the area was not suitable to play music past a certain time, they went on to saying that they were grateful for playing at the UEA as they were able to play a longer set, therefore it is not the bands choice all the time. Most time syes it is but other times it is simply up to the venue

Posted by Tom | August 2, 2010 9:01 PM | Reply to this

hmmm
rarely
but im froced to concede, yes, at times, venues can be to blame.

Posted by ROB | August 3, 2010 10:25 AM | Reply to this

Reading through the comments makes me laugh every time! Some people seem to be so keen on putting down Aiden there must be something about them! For us fans in Germany, we haven seen this band for ages and I have to go to the UK everytime I want to catch up with them! So UK Fans - be thankful that they care so much about you and come back almost every year! As for the slamming of a band - guys, get a life!

a little dissapointed that they're not back in bristol, pretty suure last time i spoke to wil francis he said he'd be back here in december :/
aaahh well

11 songs from a band like A7X, fair enough. But most Aiden songs fail to reach the 3 min mark, especially when played live! Disappointing, I was expecting an encore last time.
