Deaf Havana definitely should have one British newcomer. And did bullet really have to win British band for a 3 year in a row? Sure they are great and everything but fever is no where near as good as their other albums, it definitely should have gone to Enter Shikari. To all of the people complaining about the " moaners", many of these bands were complete shit to begin with and are an utter disgrace to the music world. This is why I don't bother with Kerrang anymore, they praise loser bands (like 30STM) and shower them with attention. There are very few bands in that list that I like. Most of them I have never even heard of. There are only 3 bands, out of that whole list of nominees that I like. None of them won. Kerrang is nothing but a poor magazine catered to teeny boppers.

Green Day never even won best live band? They are absolutaly amazing live! Anyone that has saw them live would surely agree! - I've saw them live twice, the first time I saw them I saw seated, and I've never felt more involved in a concert from the seated area than I have when I saw them. The second time of course was even better (concerts are always better when your standing) I was right at the barrier at the end of the catwalk, their stage antics are amazing. I've never saw Bullet live, but I highly doubt they are anywhere near as good as Green Day!

Totally, disappointed in these results.

I agree with Yolande, I know so many guys like really like 30STM. I actually think it's a flaw that Jared Leto is good looking because it seems to be why some people don't take them as seriously as they should. I think some people look at them with a certain image in their mind of what they think it'll be. But if you go to a gig, or actually listen to all the albums with no preconceptions you'll see the music is fucking awesome, and they are great live! You're missing out if you haven't heard the 3 albums.

All in all I think the awards turned out good and the results varied between my favourite bands ( 30STM being the absolute favourite) so that's all good. Part from Trash Talk and Rise to Remain as to be honest I have never listened to them. I don't like Rammstein either...

i'll be honest, i dislike the magazine and the bands that seem to pick to win these awards, but i met some of my favourite bands today along with people i didn't expect to meet, i don't really care about the awards, as fixed as they may be.
but congrats for the turnout of bands, free food and drink seems to always do the trick.

But 30stm should have one best video i thought, Jared directed that short film himself and all the riders in the video are fans. They shut off main streets in Los Angeles to shoot this video. You don't see many bands that go to that length for their videos.
I agree that Riot is a better album than Brand New Eyes, but it is still an amazing album nonetheless. A7X and Enter Shikari should have won an award, but congrats to BFMV, they've been very successful for a while now and deserve it.

B4MV were really good live. (I saw them when they came with A7X and they were better) but 30stm were better, which is why i voted for them.

I don't understand why everyone is getting so worked up about the results... it was the public who voted for them so surely the band that won is the band that deserved to win?

Personally I would have chosen different bands for the awards, but you can't deny that every band on that list (whether they won an award or not) has worked bloody hard to get there so those of you who decide you have the right to shove your opinions down everyone else's throats should just fuck off. i suppose kerrang had to give those bands something in return for splashing their faces all over the mag week after week. i know its voted by the readers (i voted and most certainly not for these bands) but it still whiffs of 'fix' or selling the mag to too many 11 year old children.

lastly: live band. congrats bullet for winning, seen them live, good solid band, however i agree with a lot of the above comments that the award should have gone to green day. having seen them live a heck of a lot of times over many many years (last time was at wembley stadium last month), they have got the art of a live experience down to a tee. live sound wise they are faultless, entertainment value: priceless. they have developed the green day show into an event and should have walked the award.
perhaps it was (and this could be for a lot of the other awards) it was because green day were not conveniantly available to pick up the award in this country perhaps??????????

Not currently, but me and a friend are negotiating the purchase of a pair of tickets to see Bullet. And we are considering getting Disturbed tickets purely for the support acts, which i find comical. I'd rather see the support acts than the headliners. And i can't make it to the 30STM gig as im previously engaged for the time being at least.

to plague rat above, as i said i voted for who i believed to be the best live band out of the acts i could vote for. having never seen (or hope to for that matter!) paramore or 30 seconds to mars, i had the choice of bullet, green day and skindred, all of whom i have seen and enjoyed a lot. my final vote went to green day because, like it or not, their stage show IS one of the best live shows around at the moment. i also don't 'need to get to more gigs' if i think green day are a great live band, i go to far more per month than the average person anyway!

Though me and a couple of mates play in a band and have a gig or two lined up. we have one tonight actually. nothing spectacular but always nice to see some fresh blood you know XD

I find it incredible that Green Day didn't win best live act. I have seen them everytime they play in Glasgow, last time they were on stage for two hours and fifty minutes. Not many bands play for that long and aren't nearly as entertaining as Green Day. They connect so well with their audience and have so much energy. No other band in that category come close to rivalling Green Day.

I generally think these awards have been a fail this year. I really like Paramore, but they did not deserve to win Best Album. And also, I don't think A7X and Greenday were nominated for enough awards. However, well down to all the winners, especially BFMV and 30STM, they deserved their awards :).

30 seconds to mars are mediocre at best.
All their songs have similar aspects (Jared Leto singing "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" for prolonged periods of time), they don't deserve best international at all.

Firstly, I can understand why you might think 30stm are overrated and in a way, Jared Leto can be a poser. Secondly, yes, they have only released 3 albums in 8 years. However, get's let one thing straight here. 30stm have worked so hard over these years to get people in favour of them. Jared Leto is an actor, but he wanted to produce music since he was a child, and don't deny it, his voice is incredible. He is an incredible vocal range, try and sing like he can, then you might understand. Sure he screams a lot, but his lyrics are full of inspiration, and the fact that he wants to make their music videos interesting, for instance, filming in China and the antarctic, I don't think there are any bands who have done that. It's true, he changes his appearance a lot, but fucking hell, give him a break. Let him do what he wants, he's fucking 38, he's had to work until this age to at least get some approval of rock listeners, and now 30stm are on an incredible tour, it's a dream come true for them, let them have fun, stop fucking bullshitting bout them, they've done nothing wrong, like they said about their new album 'this is war', they wanted to produce their own sound. 30stm aren't the best band in the world, I will admit, but they're my favourite band, and they're not shit, that's one thing. They've worked so fucking hard for this album, they were fucking sued $30m lawsuit for pete's ssake, how would you feel if you were in their situation?? They had to write a new album, they lost a band member, bassist Matt Wachter, Jared was still acting at the time. Also, just to point out, who gives a shit if he is good looking? It's not about appearance, it's about the music - don't judge a book by its cover. 30stm involved almost 100,000 fans all over the world, ok? Have you ever seen any band invite their own fans to an album? Because if you actually have, plz do tell, I would really like to know. The reason it's called 'this is war' is because of their dispute with their record label, it was a time where they felt they had to overcome this struggle, they've been through a lot over the years, Jared and Shannon were brought up from a commune, they're already in their late 30s. Also, 30stm wanted to make 2000album covers of fans which were spread across the world. How can you not find that inspiring? It just shows at least some bands actually care bout their fans, not the fucking money. Then, they invite their fans to a music video, kings and queens. The album itself sounds like a 'film', it sounds different, it sounds 'live' but so involving, one of the best albums ever written, explain how it is not fantastic? Their live shows are just as special, they invite some fans on stage for fucks sake. They truly care bout their fans, they ask fans to send videos and photos for making a music video and a tour dvd. Their music videos are fantastic to watch, Jared is a great actor, an incredible singer, not the best guitarist in the world, but an amazing composer. Fuck the mohawk, who gives a fuck, it's his life, he wants to enjoy this year and celebrate the release of the bands album and share with the fans, they deserve at least some credit for all this. If you disagree, plz explain why. I would be very interested. We all have dreams in our life, only very few people can fulfill their dreams, 30stm have, so let them enjoy.

How did green du not win. I've seen them twice in the space of 9 months. Two awesome gigs. The two stadium gigs were insane. Amazing band amazing gigs. Although I do like bullet I think GD should have won. And how did A7X not win best single? I mean come on ! The Rev deserves something, Paul gray and dio did.
