Joey Jordison speaks about Slipknot's future

Following guitarists Jim Root's comments last month that Slipknot might not continue after the dead of bassist Paul Gray, drummer Joey Jordison says that band will "absolutely continue."

"There will be another record for sure," Joey said in an interview with Fuse TV VJ Juliya Chernetsky. "And I wanna thank all the fans for their support [following] my loss."

As much as I love Slipknot, I hope a new album will be more like Iowa.
Still excited though! :D

we will all miss you

Not sure if I'm glad about this, I love the fact that one of my favourite bands will continue to make music, but how can they continue without their fallen brother? It won't be the same, and who could possibly fill Paul's shoes? :(

Posted by Greggoman | July 22, 2010 5:24 PM | Reply to this

Greggoman, A7X are releasing a new album without their drummer Jimmy Sullivan so why shouldn't Slipknot, it most likely be THE last record they ever make together as Slipknot and it will most likely be dedicated to their fallen brother.

It is good news to hear that Joey Jordison mentioned a new album will be released in the future, but doesn't it all need to be confirmed mainly by Corey Taylor, since he is the leadsinger of the band????
However, I'll be excited if a new album is on the way though, but who will be the band's new bassist, since Paul used to be the only bass player in the band?

hell yea who cares hw long it will take 4 the othr album as long thr is another album slipknot 4 evr

Posted by george | July 24, 2010 8:16 PM | Reply to this

You want it to sound like Iowa? This is Slipknot we're talking about and not Slayer? Slipknot don't repat what they've already done hence why every album has a completly different sound

Posted by Simon | July 26, 2010 9:28 AM | Reply to this

To be honest, instead of the album I'm more concerned about their health and state of mind. I know it will be hard for them. Yeah I look forward to hearing a new album but they have to be fully ready.

They know that however long it takes, what ever decisions they make we will all be here supporting them no matter what. Sending them love and support throughout.

It's awesome they are still staying together and making music. I mean, Paul more then anyone wouldv'e wanted the band to continue. Rumor has it the band will continue and between Joey, James and Mitch, they will be playing bass in studio recordings. When it comes to touring, they will have a temporary bassist for show. They will never replace Paul.
