Lady Gaga hearts Iron Maiden

After hitting up Marilyn Manson to remix her 2009 single, LoveGame, Lady Gaga has admitted that her love of heavy metal actually runs deeper than merely hanging out with the shock rocker formerly known as Brian Warner.

Believe it or not, Lady Gaga is actually a massive metalhead and her favourite band of all time is Iron Maiden. And she loves them so much that she actually used to cover their 1982 hit, Run To The Hills, in her live set.

"I used to do Iron Maiden's Run To The Hills in Indian headdresses and bikinis and run round the stage with hairspray on fire," she told The Daily Star. "It was freaking amazing!"

Gaga has always been well metal! If you see through the shiny marketing-genius pop veneer, there is some serious rock 'n' roll, awesome musical heart and soul. Haiters, stop being spoonfed what the record companies market and scratch beneath the surface (acoustic, piano, live performances). You may be surprised.

This is old news - and I'm pretty sure she didn't actually COVER Maiden, but used to strip/perform burlesque to them and Black Sabbath (the song)... which I find reaaaaaaallly hard to imagine.

just cause someone likes metal doesen't mean it's something they want to persue, i'm not a fan of hers but i acknowlage that she's achieved alot and is very talented, she writes her own lyrics and actually sings which is more than i can say for other people who do her type of music

Most people like her because of the stuff she wea.... doesnt wear :).

Also running around with hair spray alight in bikinis could end in a right mess.

Shes doing her job if she wants to cover peoples songs badly i dont see why not she still gets a big wod of cash after it, were not loosing sleep over it.

1) People should stop criticising GaGa for being "unoriginal." She admits too her huge influences - for example, admits that Dance in the Dark, for example, takes huge inspiriation from New Wave music and the "goth scene" as she described it.

2) GaGa is liked because her music is accessable and actually quite good - musically speaking relative to pop.

3) GaGa used to preform rock music before developing a career as an electo-pop/rock star.

Yes John they are kings of metal which is why after 30+ years they are still packing huge venues. When was the last world tour you headlined? As for the "old farts" comment, have you seen them recently? I saw them a few weeks ago at a show and they have more energy then any other band I have ever seen live. Why don't you get a fucking clue and you and Paul can take turns shoving it up each others ass. Up the irons!

Colby & Ross should try branching out a little & listen to some relevant music from today instead of guys old enough to be their dads/grandads who havent done anything good in YEARS lol there is other bands out there other than Iron Maiden. And kings of metal? dont make me laugh, Black Sabbath will always have that crown. Maiden on top for 30 years? Sure, as we all know they released all those classic discs down the years like AMOLAD, X-factor, No Prayer, Dance Of Death & Virtual 11! LOL. Yep always been on top!

Maiden has always been a power house band, with great tunes and excellent stage shows.

They are the epitome of Power Metal(along with other bands like Priest, of course) is, staying power and uniqueness. Unlike these new pop bands like gaga these one-hit wonders will be gone soon enough.
