james,
gonna be mixture of all 3 styles, along with some new influence..
but,
being with the old producer must be a good sign?

my god mr a, just fuck off.

just fuck OFF

Minutes to midnight was there best album by fucking miiiiles. There first two albums sounded like they were written by teenagers. I'm more more hoping they keep their new style, so much better.

Aaaannd, they still have Rick Rubin, the MTM producer.

fuck it.. any linkinpark is good linkinpark. however i did prefer hybrid and meteora :D

Posted by rob harrison | July 12, 2010 1:46 PM | Reply to this

no

im SURE they switched back to their previous producer??

:\\

Posted by rob | July 12, 2010 2:08 PM | Reply to this

Na rob its the MTM producer rick rubin which is a shame, and to Tom who thinks MTM is the best album compared to the first two studio albums dude what the hell? u must of been 8 when hybrid theory came out to say that EVERYONE from that era who was a teenager loved that album! havent met one person who doesnt like it! yet alone meteora!

Posted by Guerilla_radio | July 12, 2010 2:24 PM | Reply to this

lol the first time i listened to MTM i was literally just sitting there "WTF IS THIS SHIT?!?!?!"

but
it grows on you. a LOT.

HOWEVER!!

back to the Hybrid era!!!

Minutes To midnight was a fucking disaster. What I've Done, has literally no meaning as a song, and is as annoying, if not MORE than Rockstar by Nickelback! (who are shit!!!!)

I'm seeing LP live in Wembley with me gf, so yeah, this album had better be good! If it's Chester Bennington having another save the world, King Blues style, (topical for kerrang there... wankers!) then he can fuck off!

Hybrid Theory and Meteora... great albums! Bennington needs to scream more... fuck "Bleed it out" he sounds like he just lost his record deal!!!!

The great rock n roll swindle lives on!!

Posted by Matt fern | July 12, 2010 3:38 PM | Reply to this

i prefered their older material such as hybrid theory with mike shinoda's rhymes makin the album. however, like most bands their best material is their first material e.g greenday, hollywood undead

Posted by Metalhead94 | July 12, 2010 3:38 PM | Reply to this

Fuck off, hollywood undead! They only have one album... lol! Desperate Measures is just some lame EP!

Now real bands firsts... 'Maiden, Sabbath, I don't need to name check em all!

And rick Rubin is a fucking FANTASTIC producer! Slipknot? BLOOD SUGAR SEX MAGIK ANYONE??!?!

Posted by Matt Fern | July 12, 2010 3:42 PM | Reply to this

MTM has the most meaning as an album, and its BLATANTLY obvious throughout the 3 years of MTM that Chesters voice just getting better and better.

Just gotta pray they put old and new together for this one, we'll be in for a hell of an album.

And you mean the o2, not Wembley.

Posted by ROB | July 12, 2010 3:46 PM | Reply to this

I've loved all their stuff, but my music tastes are pretty ecclectic to begin with. I'm sure I'll love this one too!

Damn there are gonna be a lot of school kids having time off school.

Posted by Bigbill | July 12, 2010 3:50 PM | Reply to this

i'm thinking most people who like linkin park and have done since hybrid theory was released were in high school when that first album was released so probably aren't still in school anymore!

besides why would school kids want to see linkin park when they have those awful new bands to follow like paramore?

Posted by 2000 | July 12, 2010 4:44 PM | Reply to this

hope rick rubins not ruined LP again...

Posted by Hybrid911 | July 12, 2010 5:51 PM | Reply to this

fucking hell why all the bitchin about LP changing in MTM...they moved on, so fuck, you want hybrid and meteora then just listen to them albums then!...theyre going for something cutting edge this time, itll have the mentality of hybrid chester said but itll still be different....if they stuck to the hybrid style no one would give a fuck bout em no more cos they would of died out with nu metal like korn and limp bizkit didk...slipknot survived, and how...oh yeah thats right, CHANGING STYLE! just be greatful theyre still here and stil big, dicks

as a HUGGGE lp fan..
well said Ash =D

Posted by rob | July 12, 2010 7:32 PM | Reply to this

seeing then in november MEN 4th

Posted by emma | July 12, 2010 8:01 PM | Reply to this

I think that there's a term used to describe those bands who survived - sell outs.

Bands who constantly change their sound to suit the current trend, Korn and Limp Bizkit's sound may have been considered "uncool" in the past, but with nu metal's imminent return, I expect those bands who changed to return to their "original sound"

Chester needs to scream more? have you not heard the 20 second scream on given up??

Posted by Neil | July 12, 2010 11:58 PM | Reply to this

i've been an LP fan ince i first hear One Step Closer on kerrang tv 10years ago, i'm 24 now, and i gotta say i cant wait for the new album!

mtm had its moments - given up was the best track by far -i hope the album really is a mix of all three albums, hopefully going along the New Divide route, as imo that was a great track.

i really hope this album is more like Hybrid Theory.
i can't stand the new mainstream stuff.

Posted by Azalama | July 13, 2010 1:08 AM | Reply to this

I'll agree that MTM was not their best album, but at least it showed that they're versatile enough as musicians to write something a bit different to their older stuff. My fave album of theirs is Hybrid Theory, but I can understand that they wouldn't want to write 4 identical albums. I'm looking forward to what they do with the next one, should be interesting.

Posted by Gareth | July 13, 2010 6:51 AM | Reply to this

True, MTM was their worst album, but experimenting with stuff is good. So. AS AN OBSESSIVE LPSS, I WILL GET THIS ALBUM 1000 SUNS ON THE DAY IT COMES OUT!!!!!!!
(don't diss them as being sell outs btw, it's insulting :\)

Posted by Jean | July 13, 2010 9:29 AM | Reply to this

Its Rick Rubin guys! Reign in Blood by Slayer? All of System of a down's albums?
Johnny Cash's American recordings? Blood Sugar Sex Magick? This should be good :D

Posted by Ben | July 13, 2010 9:42 AM | Reply to this

sell outs!? HA!...if they were sell outs they would be all pop and talk about "how that girl in the club is so sexy" and bollocks....they didnt wanna do nu metal anymore, they changed cos they wanted to experiment not cos they wanted to become a mainstream pop group!..they write songs they want to write, the way the want to, and proper LP fans love it, think they give a shit what the odd whiney dick who demands 4 of the same album wants?

Posted by ash | July 13, 2010 6:21 PM | Reply to this

exactly :D

I Want the agressivness from Hybrid Theory. I want the melody from Meteora. I Dont want remixes. And I wont buy it if Gay-Z comes near any song. Id like song like Given Up from Minutes To Midnight and Maybe one kind of ballad like Shadow Of The Day, just less preachy. Id love a few songs like One Step Closer and Papercut and With You, but id also like a song or two like Numb or Somewhere I Belong. Oh and I wouldnt like to many big singles coz they usually end up coming out totally pop like What Ive Done. Fionn 11

Posted by Fionn | July 14, 2010 1:09 PM | Reply to this

Actually, I was about 15 when Metorea came out, I liked it, but MTM is a lot better.

Posted by Tom | July 14, 2010 2:12 PM | Reply to this

Posted by joyz | July 14, 2010 11:02 PM | Reply to this

can everyone just calm down. geeze people like what they like okay. some people like MTM but others prefer the older stuff. so what its still linkin park right? they are the best band ever!! I'm 16 n ive liked pretty much all of thier stuff. linkin park just pure rule and thats the only thing to be said about it. the new albums gonna be summat new so lets just look forward to it :)

Posted by Anona | July 14, 2010 11:35 PM | Reply to this
