Pearl Jam go on hiatus

Pearl Jam have apparently gone on hiatus.

Speaking from the stage at last night's Optimus Alive festival (Monday, July 12) in Lisbon, Portugal frontman Eddie Vedder told the audience in Portuguese:

"Thank you for coming to our last show. Not our last ever - but our last in a long time."

"No, it's a good thing," he added in English. "We have things we want to do. So we don't know when we'll be back."

According to the Day In Rock report though it was just a mistranslation, that Eddie Vedder says that at the end of every tour.

Hopefully Eddie won't spent his spare time surfing his life away - he should hit the road touring the Into The Wild soundtrack or record more solo stuff .... AND YESSS to the Soundgarden reunion :D
