Stop jedward from getting to Number One!

A FaceBook group has been set up by a group of enterprising Blink 182 fans to help prevent X Factor rejects Jedward getting to Number One next week with their cover of Blink's 2000 classic All The Small Things.

After we posted the accompanying video to Jedward's new single yesterday, we were inundated with THOUSANDS of emails, Tweets and comments complaining that "Jedward have murdered one of my favourite songs". Well, now is the time to do something about it people!

As with The Rage Factor campaign in December which saw thousands of rock fans buying Rage Against The Machine's 1992 hit Killing In The Name to prevent X factor winner Joe McElderry from getting the Christmas Number One, you can do the same thing to keep John and Edward Grimes off the top of the UK singles chart.

All you have to do to get Blink to Number One instead of Jedward is purchase the original version of All The Small Things between 00:01 this Sunday (July 18) and 23:59 on Saturday July 24.

The track is available for as little as 70p from Play.com, 89p from Amazon.co.uk of 99p from iTunes. Don't do it just yet though folks, wait until 00:001 on Sunday morning!

Well, i'd say nice going, kerrang! I love Blink, but All The Small Things is a pretty awful song. Seriously, look at the lyrics, "My little windmill"?! Seriously, WTF is that all about?!

Most other Blink songs = Good (with the obvious exception of "I Miss You")
ATST = Bad

this is the most pathetic thing i've ever seen/heard.

the rage thing was very cool one-off that just miraculously happened and was a great triumph of proving that genuine music could make a stand against a tv show trying to steal a particular no1 slot each and every year.

blink 182 have made loads of money over the years and are happily commanding big fees for festivals and swanning around their LA mansions. and very deservedly so, they are a great band.
but jedward are just 2 kids who have a shelf life of 6 months and are just trying to make the most of the small opportunity they've been fortunate enough to have had given to them. the money they'll make in total will probably not even be enough to buy them each a nice house, so why not just let them fucking have a chance to do their thing. they are annoying, true, but they are also nice guys, polite, considerate, friendly and hard working. they're not claiming to have a lot of talent. and they are also great fans themselves of bands like blink 182. also blink are gonna be making royalties out of everything jedward sell anyway!! AND they gave them the permission!! so why is no one hating on them for selling out their song? its just another money-maker for them.

The only reason I will be buying Blink's version, is just to throw up on Jedward's parade. The British public really have something to answer for for ever keeping these turds in that god awful "reality vote" show. If there were other options to destroy their happiness without getting arrested, I would go along with that too. Sadly, they're not going to just disappear by being beaten to number 1 by Blink 182.

Ok it's not even that good of a blink song anyway! all blink's mainstream songs were the reason people hated them cause they thought that was all they wrote. I dunno who the fuck Jedward is but if everyone stoped paying attention to them maybe they'd go away? that is pretty lame blink ok-ed them without actually checking them out but they're probably busy. whatever blink need more fans anyways the fan base is kinda dying man :( but either way Kerrang talk about mostly shitty band, NME is much better and always has been. Kerrang have to start talking about more relevant bands. Even though I'm a blink fan, I'll be the first to admit that All The Small Things is essentially a pop song with dubious lyrics. Its success is because it's a simple, feel-good pop-punk-ish anthem. That said, Jedward have totally, utterly ruined it. The little rap-thing in the middle?? Ugh.

While people say that we should let them have their five minutes, I hate the fact that two talentless eejits can be offered all of this on a plate while bands with actual talent work so hard on their music without any recognition. They get paid to act like five year olds.

Finally, I am Irish and I really wish they would stop fueling the image of Irish people as idiotic leprechaun-esque simpletons!!!

If there's a market for it, fine; just tell them to stick to said market and leave the rest of us alone!

Oh god I just checked the list of "artists" they have covered. disgusting! not a good rock or alternative or indie band I saw. just talentless pop like ricky martin, britney spears, backstreet boys, I think even n'sync. this is digusting and these are the pop "bands" blink 182 was fighting against in the late 90s-early 2000s. I remember blink even hated britney spears except Travis liked her I think. and they especially hated backstreet boys and n'sync and all that garbage. OMG i want jedward to get to number one! ive been a huge fan of blink 182 since i was 10 years old and they have been my favourite band ever since but john and edward are genuinely really really nice guys and are a lot of fun just like the guys in blink. i reckon mark tom and travis would probs really like jedward.
why cant people just like them for being soooo happy all the time! i envy them!

So I open this page expecting to see a flood of messages saying that this is an atrocity ('cause it is.) And I see this. THIS, is why I fear for music. Music is my life, but tools like Jedward, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, JLS etc are just shitting all over talented musicians/bands/singers and it makes me want to throw up. I read kerrang! and i'm going to blink 182 in april, but i am also a massive jedward fan since last august.

it's sad how a music magazine who claims to not give a shit about pop music & the charts and stuff are spending so much time on making sure that 2 decent guys don't get the only thing they want.

idk, i won't be buying kerrang! or all the small things by blink. i've bought J&E's once, i've bought blink's once.

I'm in two minds about this. On the one hand, I think that jedward should stop covering songs and write their own, it's the only way they will last more than five minutes if they wanna be famous. I think ATST is a great song, and in a way they haveruined it, but I have heard worse covers of songs. Also if they're not gonna last more than five minutes then why spoil that for them. Sure they may be crap, but there's worse out there.
Anyways, even though this is kind of pathetic, I love kerrang! And am not gonnastop reading it because of this, because that's even more pathetic. :P

All I can say to this who thing is LOL! In all fairness to Jedward they did say that Blink 182 is one of their all time favourite bands, however that is really no excuse to turn such an amazing song into such a mockery! Plus its pretty annoying that people who arent really into rock music will think that Jedward wrote that song instead of Blink 182! Whatever happened to buying music we like, when we like? I for one have at least two copies of ATST, and have done for years, so I won't be wasting my money buying it again for some pointless protest.

Though I guess it's wins all round really. You buy a single you probably already own (at least, if you love Blink as much as you claim), but get to feel like you "really showed Jedward". Jedward make as many sales as they would have anyway. And Blink probably get some royalties, but what does it matter, they're loaded already, and are probably being paid a fortune for their festivals already.

Who actually cares? Sure, Blink's version is better than Jedward's but the fact that people are trying to stop two 18 year olds from getting their dream is just pathetic.

I've been buying Kerrang! Magazine for 6 years now but this just makes me cringe, I've totally lost all my respect for some of the other fans because of this crap.

If you don't like it, then don't listen to it...it REALLY is that simple.

the people buying blink's version this week fall in to two catagories.

1 - people who already have the song anyway and are wasting their money to try and upset two 18 year olds(childish)

2 - People who don't have blink's version already, therefore meaning they weren't actual fans anyway and are just jumping on teh we hate jedward band wagon.
