i hope everyone soon realises how bad this band are... and this is coming from a guy who loves pop rock!
i dnt mind paramore being big cuase they actually make decent music... but YMAS??!
i think after this tour cycle/album.. their 15 minutes of fame will be up!
they are simply a band for little girls.. similar to justin bieber.. but with guitars!

sorry Mr A didnt realise you were AC/DC - when your touring the world, have a strong fan base, two well selling albums and a sold out UK tour - let me know yea??

mr a is jelous
he doesnt mind paramore cos he wants to bum hayley.
Can't take it that ym@6 are better than he will EVER be, live and on studio.
of course they're are better than me!
that's whyi'm not in a frickin band!
anyways... can't wait till reading... they are soo gona be the band that get bottled this year... not that i support this... it just happens to one band on the mainstage each year.. e.g. Panic at the disco, plain white t's, it's defo gona be YMAS this year. they're not a very Reading mainstage band... probably because most people at Reading are over 12.

haha nicely said.

ermm..
jesus you really are mentally fucking retarded aren't you?
bless
If youmeatsix gets bottled at Reading then surely paramore will be bottled aswell since they are more pop and a little teen girls band. Or will the twi-hards not allow this?
Posted by Dragon | July 12, 2010 12:08 PM | Reply to this
i think paramore will get more chants such as"get your tits out for the lads" etc.. not suprising the amount of times she's got her nips out on the net!
Posted by Mr.A | July 12, 2010 12:39 PM | Reply to this
@ Mr.A, you mean once?
I'm not a YMAS fan, I can't stand them. But whatever.
Posted by Purple Demon | July 12, 2010 12:49 PM | Reply to this
I have to agree with Mr.A. YMAS have found their target audience and thats why their second album was the same as the first. Pop punk and lame lyrics. These sort of songs are aimed at younger teenage girls and thats who the majority of their fans are. For 20 year olds to be doing thats is kind of sad and creepy in a way.

Mr A, you havnt denied you want to bum hayley.
I apologise for my childishness :P

lol jordan, you pathetic a$$hole.
another jelous scumbag who can't take people, probably their own age, making $hit loads of money and having a great time while they're doing it.
Actually rob im 17. I'm not pathetic, i'm stating whats true. They don't aim their music at 50 year old guys with beards longer than their dicks and shit loads of tattoos do they? They make music that teenage girls tend to like. I don't like YMAS at all. I don't like pop-punk but at least they're not making rnb. And hopefully one day they people who listen to YMAS will realise why there are bands like YMAS and Paramore and listen to the original rock and metal bands that have defined the "heavy" genre. I just think its wrong that these modern pop-punk bands are getting all the credit and fame when they wouldnt be around if it wasnt for the real talented bands who made music years ago.

Heeeeh, it's alright young child, you listen to YMAS, it was expected...
Posted by Mr. B | July 12, 2010 2:21 PM | Reply to this
jordan
unfortunately, you are pathetic.
your pretty much telling everyone who isnt a teenage girl to listen to metal and original rock.
and if they dont like it?
then what?
if a 21 year old happens to like YM@6 tunes, then what?
just fuck off or start making actual relevant comments.
Who cares if you dont like YM@6 or not. Everyone has their own tastes in music, if you dont like them then why post comments on this? You either clearly have nothing to do with your life or you were interested in them to read what they were announcing!
Get a life.

jordan and mr a hit the nail on the head, you can't deny that these new pop-rock bands aim their music/image at the younger music buying demographic. they are the noughties equivilent of the backstreet boys, nsync and britney spears. they are young, good looking and make easily accessible to the masses music. for anyone over the age of 20 they should be a guilty pleasure but i don't think theres anything wrong with that. softer and popular rock music has always been the route into a more broader spectrum of music just as my generation got into rock music through 'dude ranch' 'nimrod' and 'americana'.

god you lot are such prejedice wankers its unbelievable.
"todays equivalent" of those ridiculous boy bands would be people like JLS, taoi Cruz.. etc etc.
manufactured, pop CRAP.
These guys put together their own songs, about things THEY want to sing about, HOW they want to sing it.
How is that ANYTHING like NSync OR Backstreet Boys???
Which happens to be the exact same things that every other pop-rock band sings about.
Rob, open your eyes, this disposable horseshit will disappear as soon as the current trend becomes unpopular, but unlike their idols, they will never return.

father o flannigan...
a semi-good point, in the fact that these bands WON'T be around for ever, unlike, say Maiden, Sabbath, the Zep, Purple...
actually backstreet boys wrote a lot of their own material (one of them was a professional pianist) and as for nsync didn't old justin trousersnake write a lot of theirs including his solo albums?
pop is pop, weather they are a traditional boyband without instruments or a pop band with guitars. you can't argue the demograthic both aim for: young impressionable teens who listen to radio friendly hits on the radio.
Posted by interested | July 12, 2010 4:51 PM | Reply to this
true
cos i hear SO much ym@6 and paramore on the radio....
yes
that was sarcastic.
fucking idiots.
why do people who BLATANTLY have musical knowledge have such idiotic thoughts??
ymas suck cus they are so average and shouldnt be famous when bands like in case of fire r stuggling to evan tour the uk
cus there so small

what bridges the gap between nsync and youmeatsix?
mcfly and busted!
tune into radio one rob, they play youmeatsix and paramore a heck of a lot!
in comparison, i don't recall the last time i tuned in to the chris moyles show/fearne cotton/.scott mills prime time slots and heard less than jake, against me or nofx playing. all of whom have some degree of 'popular' punk/pop stylings to their sound.

I'm not telling everyone to listen to metal and origianal rock. i'm jsut saying if your gunna call yourself a music fan you should at least know and appreciate how it started.
YMAS and Paramore are so insignificant in todays music. They serve no purpose. If Hayley Williams died, that would be it. A few scene/emo kids would be bothered and that would be it. Dimebag Darrell died and is still remembered and talked about now for being so influencial in his genre of music. Same with Kurt Cobain. YMAS wouldn't get this. Also older metal bands such as Slayer and Megadeth come back now and play high slots at big festivals. Do you think YMAS will do this in 20 years time? Doubt if anyone even remembers YMAS in 20 years time.
Posted by Jordan | July 12, 2010 6:41 PM | Reply to this
at the end of the day, your talking about the longevity of these bands, which granted 90% have about a 4-5yr run if their lucky.
but that doesnt change the fact that they do some damn good tunes!
dont completely disregard a band just because of "who they aim for"
JLS are better than youmeatsix. The club is alive is less annoying than when josh whines finders keepers in the chorus.
Posted by Night hawk | July 12, 2010 8:47 PM | Reply to this
Nothing on this earth is worse than JLS, I'd rather listen to S club 7 and they are complete and utter shit.

I'm not saying they don't im just saying i don't personally like them. To be truthful i have seen YMAS twice, i was in the NME tent at Leeds 09 when they came on and my girlfriend wanted to see them at the Sheffield Academy. They surprised me at Leeds but at the academy i thought Josh's vocals let them down. They're an okay live band i guess.
You too rob, you seem to know what your talking about.
Posted by Jordan | July 12, 2010 10:07 PM | Reply to this
face it, this band is utterly horrendous, just another band for the scene kids who sing about girls and parties. And wow, they are such lyrical geniuses.
Also they all look like dicks, most fans probably only like them because they fancy the lead singer, same goes for Bring Me The Horizon. YM@6 & BMTH, the 2 worst rock and metal bands of the 00's
Everyone is allowed their own opinion! My opinion YMA6 are a good wee band that love what they do and love their type of music and i'm not a"little teen girl" and i do love legendery rock and metal bands. i must agree with most, if not all, of what Jordan has said here. What i have read of his comments make's sence and has very valid points!
Posted by Laurenn | July 13, 2010 2:16 AM | Reply to this
Jordan is such a twat :L
they aren't insignificant what so ever. they may be to you, but to others they are a fucking awesome band. i've been a fan of you me at six since 2008 when i saw them at give it a name. they didnt even have an album out, but i saw a variety of ages ENJOYING the music, clapping along and having a good time. prehaps they aren't as big as metallica, thats understandable. but they only have two albums out douche. give them a chance motherfucker, you clearly know shit.
Posted by warwick | July 13, 2010 10:36 AM | Reply to this
in terms of longevity, jordan is right. i doubt very much you me at six will exist in 10 years time or if they do, their popularity will have plummeted. the ones that stick around and are rememberd tend to be in the 'right place at the right time' in that period's current musical climate. blink 182 are a recent example. they went on their 'indefinate hiatus in 2003, after becoming THE biggest pop-punk band on the planet they struck a chord with the young teenage skater kids of the turn of the millenium and have a nostalgia factor in their (now all grown up) memories. their recent reformation last year, (and by the time they hit the uk shores, 7 long years since they split) has shown them to be as popular as ever, even without any new material. i know that a lot of kids who were probably too young to buy a cd when they split up make up a portion of the audience but the majority of those excited will be people in their mid twenties cracking out their old dickies shorts.maybe in 7 years time these new bands will still be popular and will have defined a new era of young music fans but the cynic in me says i very much doubt you me at six or paramore will be headlining reading/leeds festival in 2017...
Posted by joejoe | July 13, 2010 10:56 AM | Reply to this
doh! fact change: 2003 was the release of their last album as a band and inner band turmoil meant they pretty much stopped functioning together in 2004. think the official announcement was early 2005 but they'd pretty much been split up for a while previous to that. still in these fickle music times, thats a eon ago to the average young music fan!
Posted by joejoe | July 13, 2010 11:18 AM | Reply to this
@warwick
so you think that YMAS have an effect on future bands and are shaping the future of music right now? I don't think so.
Posted by Jordan | July 13, 2010 12:25 PM | Reply to this
lol much as i enjoy YM@6...
well put point there Jordan mate.
Stfu, listen to the music you enjoy and get on with your lives.

I disagree, i think bands like you me at six are more famous as they inspire alot for younger people to start bands, they inspired me to start playing guitar and now i play in a metal band. most of their singles are more pop and cheesy mcfly sounding songs but on their albums you will see a much darker and deeper side of their music. but anyway who cares? they are a decent band and everyone is entitled to opinion as long as they don't listen to RnB and rap :D
