Behemoth frontman diagnosed with cancer

Behemoth frontman Nergal has revealed that he has been diagnosed with leukaemia, a cancer of the blood or bone marrow.

Last week, the frontman - whose real name is Adam Darski - was rushed to Gdansk Medical University Hospital earlier this month, but would not reveal the cause of his condition.

But now it is understood that his condition has now developed to a stage where chemotherapy is not enough. His fiancée Doda has donated bone marrow in a bid to cure his disease through a bone marrow transplant.

Oh my fuck. I immediately jumped out of my bed when I got an alert about this. This is such awful, heartbreaking news. I'm kind of speechless... I hope he gets through this, my thoughts go out to his family, friends, and fans.

I don't like Behemoth but this is really sad! Hope the transplant goes well and wish all the best to him and his loved ones.

I am truly devastated by this news, I've never been Behemoth's biggest fan but I've always appreciated their show, and how technically gifted the musicians of this band are. It's always a tragedy when someone dies but Nergal would be another gigantic loss from the world of Metal. We're with you all the way man, I send my best wishes.

Daaaaaave disgusts me. Some of you might have seen I got my comment about Matthew Leone printed in the Korn issue, which blew me away. I don't like Madina Lake and I still supported him.

Behemoth aren't really my thing musically, but I've always thought Nergal seems like a good guy and is a talented musician. This'll be another loss to music if he dies, he doesn't deserve to have had the shit he's had this year, my thoughts are with him.

I dont really listen to Behemoth much but this is still a really upseting thing to hear about. No-one deserves to have cancer, but it always happens to the innocent people. :/

It's great to see positive comments from fans and non-fans alike. I think news like this affects everyone, regardless of what music you prefer.

I lost my sister-in-law to the same illness, so, not for the first, this news hit me hard. I really hope he gives cancer a proper kick in the balls, and makes a full recovery.
