Guns N' Roses pull Reading and Leeds?

Guns N' Roses have cancelled their appearances at this month's Reading and Leeds festivals as well as their upcoming UK tour dates if frontman Axl Rose's Twitter is to be believed.

According to a Tweet posted at 11PM (GMT) last night, Rose wrote:

"All upcoming Guns N' Roses dates are officially cancelled. Please contact your place of purchase for any refunds."

However, Guns N' Roses official website, www.gunsnroses.com, still lists the dates as taking place.

We'll keep you posted as soon as we receive official comment.

4 words - is anyone actually suprised?

and Loz - they're already playing :P but a headlining wpuldnt be half bad. I've heard rumours it could be MCR, Eminem or Linkin Park replacing GNR, but as I said they're just rumours. for all I know Jesus could decend from the heavens with a fender and headline...

I'd probably be a bit more upset if Slash was still with them. Alas, Axl & friends mean nothing to me, it still would've been nice to see them. :/

Not surprised. Not bothered.
I'm working at Leeds though so I'd love to know what's actually going on so I can arrange my shifts with accordance to who's playing.
I would love Linkin Park to replace them! :D It would make my Leeds!

Ugh. Axl Rose, if not for Jared Leto, would be the cunt to end all cunts.

Here's hoping for Iron Maiden to pull a Download and step in for them, so you lot can hear some real music.

I hope they have pulled out, i wasn't looking forward to seeing Axl Rose and friends. I'd rather them be replaced with Eminem but chances are QOTSA will just get a longer set, which wouldn't be bad

tbh, it's not even GNR it's Axl with a few instrument players, seriously i'm happy they pulled out because they'd of just been shite anyway.

I totally agree it hasn't been guns n roses for years here's hoping linkin park step in. I'd even settle for MCR or Iron Maiden

You had me going there for a second Patrick. That would be the equvilent of having Eminem open for Metallica. An epic Abortion.

Posted by Ross | August 16, 2010 11:38 AM | Reply to this

Metallica is a good call actually. Metallica or Linkin Park would be the perfect end to the weekend

This should shut a few of my Leeds-going friends up. Can we not just accept that GNR aren't good anymore? I mean, I saw Slash at Download, and he was amazing. But GNR aren't even GNR anymore. It's pretty much just Axl. And Axl's a class A nob.

This is a fake, his Twitter account was hacked and it has been confirmed by GNR.
