Soundgarden to release new Best Of next month

Recently reunited grunge legends Soundgraden are gearing up to release a new retrospective collection at the end of next month.

Entitled Telephantasm, the album is set to include tracks from 1988 debut, Ultramega OK, right through to the final album before they initially split up, 1996's Down on the Upside, as well as previously unreleased tracks.

"It is with great pleasure that we can finally let you all know what we have been working on [since we announced our reunion on New Year's Day]," said the band in an official statement. "On September 27, we will be releasing a new retrospective called Telephantasm. It includes songs from all of our albums and EPs, including Black Rain, an unreleased track from the Badmotorfinger sessions. Plus, we are releasing our first ever DVD which will include never before seen videos, and much more.

The band have partnered with Guitar Hero 6 to launch the album, which means if you buy Guitar Hero 6 when it's released on September 28, you will get a copy of Telephantasm as well.

"Of course, there will be vinyl, collectors editions, deluxe packages and more," the band added.

I don't understand "Best Of" albums these days. If we're fans, we can make a Best Of playlist or cd...
