Is everything alright with Scott Weiland?

Stone Temple Pilots have postponed 12 shows on their current US tour for a "short break".

The announcement came just two days after frontman Scott Weiland made a drunken speech onstage in Houston, Texas last week.

"I started drinking again," Scott told the crowd. "My brother died, I got divorced [from] my wife, and my whole world basically spun around."

As previously reported, Weiland is set to release a no-holds-barred autobiography next year about his previous battles with drug addiction.

Yep, sounds about right. He was off his head on something when they played at Download in June which inevitably made them look shit and a waste of 75 minutes.

Oh no, not again. His marriage was on the rocks for ages and after the Velvet Revolver situation he seemed back on form. I met Scott briefly in Amsterdam when it was his final performance with Velvet Revolver and he seemed fine, but the obvious tensions were around as the band were staying in the same hotel as me and I certainly sensed the negative atmosphere. He's such a great frontman and I've been a huge STP fan for years. GET SORTED OUT SCOTT!

I forgot to add that I also saw STP at Download and it was very difficult to get the crowd going at that time, because the band came on as it was pissing down with rain. Poor Scott tried his best to win over the crowd, but so many people were leaving because they got SOAKED!
They were still fun to watch. Scott making fun use of an umbrella and dancing around the wet stage floor.

Losing a brother is something no one has to go through......and losing a wife too....that must be fucking awful O.o
I hope he finds peace of mind and the strength to carry on doing what he does best.
Keep strong Scott =)

there performance at download was shit.

And its ok blaming the rain and stuff but when he came to download with velvet revolver a few years ago he was shit then and i saw VR a few times and he sucked everytime. I only went to see VR because of slash and the others. This man is a drama queen and a waste of space as well as being the weakest link in every band he has been in.

Please bear in mind people that Scott Weiland has bipolar disorder, it's not an easy thing to live with. Plus with various drug addictions, his divorce and his brother dying around the time of writing the second Velvet Revolver album, not forgetting the fued with his former bandmates (which is thankfully patched up now).

I think it's great Scott is still working hard dispite the shit that's happened to him over the past few years. If you think you have the right to call him a twat, give him a fucking break! I reckon if YOU were in his shoes you would likely be dead. Scott has been able to progress well. Yes the new STP album isn't as good as the old stuff (I think it has some great songs in my opinion) but come on people, leave him alone. He is not a waste of space in any way, he is definately one of the best frontmen that is left in the world of rock n' roll and for the record, I thought their set at Download was one of the best. Just under Rage Against The Machine.

Seeing VR just for Slash is just plain stupid. You should approach these cases with an open mind and realise that Scott still has alot of inner demons to fight and peace to search for. A true rock n' roll fan should show nothing but love and support for musicians like Scott who have alot of current emotional or spiritual issues. We've lost enough great musicians this year, let's not lose any more.

Also epic fail @ Kerrang for putting Stone Sour stuff in the merchandise section, this is STP you morons.

I also agree with Ben, and while I'm respect people's right to an opinion, I'm sick of people dismissing STP's Download performance as shit - compared to the number of stale American metal bands who performed over the weekend, STP was a real treat, and their older material in particular was awesome to watch. It was the soggiest mosh I ever did have!

Therefore it is a shame to hear this news. If Scott is off the wagon again, then I hope he finds the strength to basically get back on it. The people calling him a waste of space - he might not be the most likable frontman but give him a break. Could you cope in a similar situation?

The guys a mess. Always has been. Always will be. It's fine to say he has this addiction or this disorder or someone died but it's how the person handles their life and situation. If he's going on stage pissed off his tits all the time then he isn't being professional and in turn making money from fans who pay for their tickets and merchandise and totally fucking them over.
I'm not a fan of STP and weren't a fan of Velvet Revolver but for his sake, he needs to get his act together and hopefully he'll be able to go away, get the help he needs and come back stronger and put on the shows his fans deserve to see

@Ben

How about you learn to accept other peoples opinions?

You narrow minded twat if someone goes to see VR to just see slash then he can.

Besides scott is a total waste of life.
