Kerrang! The Kerrang! Relentless Energy Tour 2011 is go!

The Kerrang! Relentless Energy Tour 2011 is go!

Good Charlotte are set to return to the UK as the headline act of next year's Kerrang! Relentless Energy Drink Tour, which kicks off at Dublin Academy on February 4.

The California-based pop-punks - who are set to release their new album, Cardiology on November 1 - will be joined on the 11-date UK and Ireland tour by Massachusetts melodic hardcore gang Four Year Strong and Nashville-based K! Award nominated rockers Framing Hanley.

"This is really exciting for us," says Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden. "Kerrang! have always been a big supporter of our band and it's something we don't take for granted. This is the first time we've done anything like this, especially in the UK, and I think it's long overdue. It's going to be like one long party!

"We can't wait to hang out with Four Year Strong and Framing Hanley, too," he adds. "The bill is so strong - people are going to get their money's worth!"

"We're really excited to do this," adds Four Year Strong guitarist/vocalist Alan Day. "We love coming over to the UK because the shows are always amazing.

"We're really looking forward to starting the tour in Ireland, too," he adds. "We've never been to Dublin, so I'm going to be the biggest tourist ever and do all the sightseeing I can. This tour is going to be unbelievable!"

Framing Hanley frontman Kenneth Nixon says that he finds it "surreal" to be touring with Good Charlotte.

"I think that's the best way of explaining it!" he laughs. "In 2002, I remember playing [Good Charlotte's 2000 debut single] Little Things at a party! Eight years on, it's crazy to think we'll be hitting the road with these guys. It's going to be awesome.

"We feel that this is a big opportunity for our band and it's really flattering to be part of this tour," he adds. "It's a diverse bill and I think that's one of the coolest things about this tour. This is a huge step for us and it's exciting to be on a bill with such great bands. Being in the support slot, you're pushed to put on a better show and prove yourself night after night. We always thrive in that situation. We really can't wait."

And if that awesome line-up wasn't enough, one more band will be confirmed in coming weeks!

The Kerrang! Relentless Energy Drink Tour 2011 will hit the following venues: Dublin Academy February 4, Southampton Guildhall 6, Norwich UEA 7, Bristol O2 Academy 8, Cardiff University Great Hall 10, Leeds O2 Academy 11, Newcastle O2 Academy 12, Glasgow O2 Academy 14, Manchester Academy 15, Birmingham O2 Academy 17 and concludes at London's Roundhouse on February 18.

Tickets for the Kerrang! Relentless Energy Drink Tour 2011 go on pre-sale on September 15 through www.aloud.com, and cost £16 regionally and £17 for London. General sale begins on September 17. Please note, all venues are for those over 14 years of age.

Posted by Laney | September 13, 2010 5:47 PM | Reply to this

not as good as last years line up but it's still really good. Can't wait to see GC and FYS not so bothered about faming hanely. You Me At Six should instead ;) also, a fourth band should be deaf havana

Bristol O2 might be worht a look-at, if only for GC and 'Hanley's cover of Lollipop.

Woooo! Not so excited for the headline act.. but still they're amazing don't get me wrong.

Really excited for Four Year Strong and Framing Hanley.. it's all American so far.. So I expect some well I would probably say that the TBA band is Deaf Havana.

I mean it needs to be an up and coming band.. they would fit perfectly as last year Young Guns were basically there.. constantly being mentioned too in Kerrang!

Deaf Havana would make this THAT much more amazing, I can't wait!

Fuck you kerrang! No Belfast show?!! What's the deal. I am the biggest GC fan. I have every copy of your magazine dating from 2004. I have a subscription... And you fail to add us to your tour again?! Why? I went to relentless the year black tide playe and it was epic! Why do you keep leaving us out?! :/. Gutted.

Posted by Jo | September 13, 2010 11:37 PM | Reply to this

No Belfast show?! You suck at kerrang! Why always get left out. Why do I bother buying your mag? :(

Posted by Damon | September 13, 2010 11:45 PM | Reply to this

So I sat here looking forward to this announcment...
Have always monitered this tour and it's sort of not so sure feel this year.

Good Charlotte = meh =/
FYS = never heard of them
Framing Hanley = Fairly good band

I think I'm in support of the other people here pleging to get Francesqa on the bill. Definatly a worthy band, will spice this tour up a bit (Y)

Posted by JoNnY | September 14, 2010 12:22 AM | Reply to this

Kerrang What The Fuck! Why do you leave Belfast out? It's like three hours away from Dublin, It's bad enough all the other bands forget us but your supposed to bring music to all in the UK! I am disappointed!

Posted by CC | September 14, 2010 2:39 AM | Reply to this

Kerrang.. PLEASE ADD A BELFAST DATE!!! This tour used to come to Belfast.

Posted by WTF | September 14, 2010 8:06 AM | Reply to this

it wont be francesqa, i spoke to one of the guys in the band and he said they're not on it.

tour looks ace. stop complaining about them not coming to your city, they cant go everywhere and some of us have to travel 3 hours to ever gig we go to.

also so what if you dont like the lineup, dont go. im sure there will be other tours where you like whos playing.

and whoever thinks ym@6 will be on this is completely retarded.

Posted by Karl | September 14, 2010 9:16 AM | Reply to this

Look how many of these posts are about Belfast!
Get it sorted kerrang! It's so unfair.

Posted by Jo | September 14, 2010 10:00 AM | Reply to this

if Deaf Havana is the 4th band then i am definatley taking the 3 hour journey to dublin! and YM@6 can fuck off...

Good old rock and roll, love Francesqa AND Deaf Havana

For once, a tour without any ridiculous screaming! :)

Posted by Mikey | September 14, 2010 10:41 AM | Reply to this

As mentioned before, Francesqa won't be on the tour, my guess is Deaf Havana or hopefully Out Of Sight.
Have to say, 4 american headliners in the past 4 years, I'm really disappointed about that. Kerrang! you, are a British magazine and there are plenty of British bands on this level that could be part of the tour, why have so many American bands? If the opener isn't British, I'll be very disappointed. You should be supporting the bands by giving them chances like this, like you did last year for Young Guns, My Passion and The Blackout. Sort it out.

Seeing as both themselves and FYS didn't do a full tour this winter
instead opting to play one date in london (I AM AWARE ETF ADDED ANOTHER DATE....IN LONDON)

do the math children ;)

if DRUGS is the band confirmed then I lose all my faith in Kerrang! how can they support british music if they put on an unknown American band, this should be Deaf Havana, Francesqa, Futures, Canterbury, Blitz Kids or someone in the UK who will be the next breakthrough band.

such a dissapointment. -.-

Gooooooooood Charlotte <3
Saw them three years ago, and ever since I've been dying to see them again. Absoultly amazing life, definitely gonna be a good gig.
Also, Kerrang! tour this year was sweet as, I shall now try and make it a yearly tradition to go xD

D.R.U.G.S opening? American band? Fuck you Kerrang. I love your magazine, but this is seriously shit.

Posted by Romy | September 15, 2010 12:19 PM | Reply to this

Yeah Looks Like An All-American Tour as I've also heard that Craig Owen's new band, D.R.U.G.S are opening this, not that I'm gutted

Posted by Matty | September 15, 2010 12:40 PM | Reply to this

dear god. that's going to be terrible.

I saw GC at the UEA the last time they played, truely the worst gig i've ever been to.
They hardly talked to the crowd, vocals were terrible, and the crowd wouldnt stop chanting to see paris hilton or nicole ritchie.

Lets hope their new album is ok.

Posted by Jaff | September 15, 2010 1:10 PM | Reply to this

I know it means an All American Bill but how about Benedictum for openers?
They will have their third album out early 2011 and they are a great female fronted band so adding something else to the li neup.
Already playing Hard Rock Hell in December for the second time so maybe difficult but I think they would be brilliant!!

Posted by Peter Freeman | September 15, 2010 1:38 PM | Reply to this

All the lineup this year is shit.
I won't be going.

You should come to Belfast :D

Posted by Conor | September 15, 2010 8:17 PM | Reply to this

Stop fucking complaining about them being American bands, you don't get a CD and then find out the bands not 'upcoming british talent' and throw it away, do you? Probably not.

Get the hell over it, the Kerrang tour should be a blast, about the music and having an awesome night.

If your gonna moan about the bands playing STFU and stay at home, losers.

Posted by Amy Chizz | September 16, 2010 5:38 PM | Reply to this

WTF?! why dont yous come to b'fast anymore, its only a couple hours away from dublin! Yous are suposed to spread good music throughtout the UK and Ireland and NORTHERN IRELAND is a part of both so surely yous should come here. Your fan base here is MASSIVE! i have to rush to my local shop to buy flipping kerrang! Yet i not able to rush and buy tickets for belfast?! Its stupid. And majorly sucks.

Posted by Hannah | September 16, 2010 7:00 PM | Reply to this

No Belfast date again? Come on Kerrang! Belfast always has the best crowds and we seem to get left out a lot! You used to come to Belfast, what happened? I'd like an explanation tbh. And not everyone is able to travel to Dublin. Bus or train is more expensive than the ticket itself! Give us a break and add more dates (a Belfast one, not a second Dublin one like last year!)

Posted by Chris | September 16, 2010 7:02 PM | Reply to this

Hmm... one more band to be announced? A Day To Remember FTW :) THat would mix nicely with Four Year Strong. I Good Charlotte only play their first album, they'll be good :) Fuck Frigging Hanley!

Posted by Myles | September 16, 2010 10:10 PM | Reply to this

I'm not a big fan of Good Charlotte but i freakin' love Framing Hanley so it'd be worth it just to see them! The fourth band better be Deaf Havanna or You Me At Six both amazing bands!! They should really get an Irish band on the K! Tour at some stage! Like Fox Avenue or Jody Has A Hitlist.

Loads of my friends are willing to pay more for a ticket just so they don't have to travel the length of the country so please please please add a belfast date pleaseeeeee >.<

Posted by immy | November 7, 2010 1:46 PM | Reply to this

You need to do one in Salisbury! We hardly ever get any big acts around here. And everyone is willing to pay the price for the tour, but its the traveling to the places and its impossible for us to travel 2 hours, because, of parents! We have places you could do it in, and i know a load of people that will sign a form for you to come :D Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee !! :D
