And the final band for the K! Relentless Energy Drink Tour is...

After months of speculation, we can finally reveal that the opening band for the Kerrang! Relentless Energy Drink Tour 2011 will be The Wonder Years.

The Philadelphia pop-punks will be joining headliners Good Charlotte, as well as Four Year Strong and Framing Hanley on the 11-date trek around the UK and Ireland next February.

"I can't adequately express how excited we are!" says The Wonder Years' frontman Dan 'Soupy' Campbell. "We've been to the United Kingdom four times in the last three years on a DIY agenda, so it's a real honour to be making our fifth appearance on British shores as part of the Kerrang! Tour. It's going to be intense!"

If you're still not acquainted with the hard-working US rockers, be sure to pick up this week's Kerrang! magazine for an Introducing feature with the band.

The Kerrang! Relentless Energy Drink Tour 2011 kicks off in Dublin on Friday, February 4, and finishes in London on Friday, February 18. For the full list of dates and venues, and to buy tickets, see www.aloud.com.

The best possible announcement. Biggayal - you really expected a band to open the tour than this. The Wonder Years opening is amazing news, unfortunately this means I have to sit through Framing Hanley though.

I've seen some little bitches moaning on twitter about how kerrang! is british so should have british abnds on the tour. i don't think it matters as long as the musics good. plus they had loads of british bands on this years tour the blackout, my passion young guns etc. so my advise is to staop moaning and enjoy it!!!!1!!!

xox

As much as I enjoy FYS, I was going to sit this one out this year - Framing Hanley and Good Charlotte can take a run and jump, as far as I'm concerned. Hoping that TWY will add headline shows on days off as they see fit, but I'll definitely be at one or two dates now. Love that band.

@Andrew Stephenson - when I said bigger band, I meant someone more well known. Sorta like Deaf Havana, Black Veil Brides or Heaven's Basement. I didnt mean a big band that was bigger than the other 3 already announced.

these will go down nicely with four year strong :)

Posted by Brad | October 12, 2010 12:18 PM | Reply to this

Sick, TWY are the only good band on the tour!
Going just to see them

Best K tour line up ever!!
Four Year Strong and The Wonder Years are unreal <3

Why are people moaning about it being all american bands?? When was it ever said that it had to be UK bands? Kerrang is a rock music magazine written in the UK, not a UK rock magazine. Maybe they should report only on UK bands in future to keep the haters happy. It is essentially a Good Charlotte tour with better than your average supports sponsored by Kerrang anyway, so why the commotion?

Posted by Chris | October 12, 2010 2:23 PM | Reply to this

can anyone recommend any songs from The Wonder Years? i aint heard of them.
and i actually to be honest thought it could be francesqa but i dont mind the line up being all american bands..it shall be intresting and hopefully 2012 will be all british band line up.

@Chris

Listen to their album 'The Upsides'

I don't care about it being all American band but for fuck sake, how bout a little diversity?! I like Good Charlotte but they should really have mixed the genres up a bit.

Awww.

I was hoping for Canterbury.

I guess pop-punk will brighten our days :)

Posted by Joy | October 12, 2010 3:41 PM | Reply to this

You should have given a smaller british band a chance to open it up like young guns and my passion last year, all of these bands are so well known and are pretty big here and America. All similar genres aswell

YEEEEEEEEEES!!

After all them wanting Francesqa, I can't express how happy I was to find out it wasn't them, cause quite frankly, they're lame as fuck.

The Wonder Years were so unexpected, and as one of my favourite bands, can't wait for them to open. Be weird seeing them in such a big place, used to it being in my face in the basement of 150 capacity pubs and shit. At least there'll be room to throw some serious shit down.

im quite surprised. i wanted a british band to be the final one announced, but The Wonder Years sound good.
CANT WAIT to see Framing Hanley and Good Charlotte, its going to be a good one!

Posted by sarah | October 12, 2010 5:20 PM | Reply to this

Kerrang tour is going to be all about stage dives and high fives then, excluding Framing Hanley. Some serious bro-core pop-punk, kids better be learning to 2-step.

Posted by XJWX | October 12, 2010 5:54 PM | Reply to this

The best news ive ever heard. The Wonder Years are by far my favourite band. What angers me is that this is the first coverage that Kerrang are doing of them. Still CANNOT WAIT

Was hoping for deaf havana.. nevermind then.. Still going though x)

Third year ooft.

Fuck Sake ¬_¬ Was hoping for something at least pretty heavy to balance it out a bit. Rise To Remain Or Black Veil Brides or Blackhole. Am pretty gutted :(

Posted by Chris | October 12, 2010 8:19 PM | Reply to this

BEST NEWS EVER

i love the fact that hardly anyone has heard of them aswell! FYS AND TWY... EPIC

Posted by Sammy | October 12, 2010 8:35 PM | Reply to this

Great I listen to all those bands this years K! tour is going to be insane

Posted by Dominic | October 12, 2010 10:38 PM | Reply to this

Well that was fucking dissapointing.

Posted by Lee Johnson | October 12, 2010 11:20 PM | Reply to this

YESSSSSSS, TWY will be the best band on the tour, but an introducing thing for them ... ? A little pissed off it takes Kerrang so long to discover good music! X

What's with all the hate, its just good pop punk. It's all about hanging with friends and good times, no hate, no anger or depression. There again some people won't be satisfied unless it was Iron Maiden or Slayer, and then you have all the people who are 14 and wished that emo would have a revival so they could be a part of it. Hey kids cheer up, cut some shapes, throw out some high fives and smile until your cheeks hurt!

...who?

Posted by Michael | October 13, 2010 7:34 AM | Reply to this

The Wonder Years are awesome, as are Four Year Strong. Shame about the other two...also, TWY just uploaded their music video for "Melrose Diner", so search that to get started. Fans of New Found Glory will be happy.

Amazing announcement! Heard of TWY but not listened to them yet, I'm on my way to do so now :P
Just glad it WASN'T Black Veil Brides. Would've been cool to see DRUGS or Francesqa or another from the list of spectulated bands, but this is just as awesome :D

why do bands always forget to mention IRELAND? WE AREN'T PART OF THE UK DUMBASSES!!!

im sorry but it just really annoys me, especially since it looks like this band wouldn't get to ireland without being on this tour

*no offence to people of the UK intended

Posted by amy | November 25, 2010 1:32 PM | Reply to this

makes me laugh that people are slagging off the bands going and then saying, oh yeah i'll go for one band. what's the point? if you hate them that much then don't go. i'm genuinely excited and love every band that's going <3

*sigh* i remember the days of raw power and kerrang...when it was ROCK and they went up against the likes of smash hits and NME. This tour sounds lame. But hey, everyone is different, I'm sure the tickets will sell just the same. But o how you made an old bird laugh with your comments and also reminisce *goes all dewy eyed* have fun y'all ;)
