Bullet For My Valentine bassist leaves North American tour

Bullet For My Valentine bassist Jay James has temporarily pulled out of the band's current US tour to attend to a "private family matter".

"Bullet For My Valentine regret to inform their fans that bassist Jason James will be taking time off from their current North American fall tour," reads an official statement from the band's management. "James will be on leave from October 8 through October 17 attending to a private family matter and will rejoin the band on October 18 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

"No dates will be cancelled and Escape The Fate, Black Tide and Drive A will continue to open on all remaining dates. Calvin Roffey, a musician in his own right and BFMV guitar tech, will take over bass duties until James returns to the tour."

The band will tour the UK with Bring Me The Horizon in December. For full dates, and to buy tickets, see www.aloud.com.

You know a true genuine band when they write stuff like "Calvin Roffey, a musician in his own right "

nice to show they appreciate the guy for stepping up to play infront of probably 1500 kids each show and he`s probably never experienced it before!

Pretty sick to let someone step in and not cancel any shows, they are going to lack jay's screaming though coz he does alot of that when they play live to take strain off matt

your betrayal wont be the same without jays screaming vocals but awesome bands get round these problems and the show will still probably be good as fuck

I took my 13 year old son to see BFMV in Milwaukee and I met Calvin before the show. This guy sat with my son while I got his guitar out of the car and then got the whole band to sign it. I will always be grateful that he took the time to do this. It made my sons night. He sure was exicted. I wish him all the luck with this.
