People should be more open minded. It's true, You Me At Six is a pop(/rock) band and not pop-punk, but in my opinion it's cool that bands with different music styles play together. (and to be honest...in this case the difference isn't so big) Besides...this happens not rarely and I'm glad about that.

I'm quite happy about this tbh. I like You Me At Six, they are very good live. Can't wait to see Blink :) And for those who are getting pissy about this, chances are they won't be the only support.

Clearly this support is aimed at newer Blink fans than those who were around first time round.

At £40 a pop I imagine the people pleased with this had a bit of help from Mum and Dad to buy their tickets

I saw YouMeAtSix at Reading and they were by far the worst band of the day (closely followed by Paramore - Hayley's voice is no where near powerful enough for that big a stage)

If Weezer were supporting like in the states I would definately look into getting tickets despite the price. But this takes the piss a bit.

I agree with Adam above (especially your Reading comments!), youmeatshit are awful live, complete pop-pap. In comparison to the support Blink 182 had in the states (WEEZER! I'd happily pay to see them again anyway. Even Fall Out Ball are tolerable to a degree) this is a crap support announcement. Hopefully someone else will be above youmeatsix.

YMAS are experimenting with a new sound atm. Their new material is darker than the previous stuff as Josh has tweeted plenty of times as well as the rest of the band, don't judge.
They're good performers and they're liked by a pretty large amount of people.

Anyway, can't wait. Nottingham!!

They're the MAIN support so you might as well get over it. You bought the tickets for Blink, not for the support act. They're just there to fill in the waiting time for the main event. Not a massive You Me At Six fan but I think it's great they're supporting them because it clearly means a lot to them, they're huge fans of Blink 182 themselves! I think it's really exciting for a band to support a band they idolise. And you moaning isn't going to change anything. So MAN UP.

I've sat through hundreds, if not thousands, of shitty, shitty support bands, but I don't care!
For one, they're not who i've paid to see. If you expect to see loads of bands you like, go to a festival!
And second, are you a little scared you might like what you hear?! I've taken my sis to see these guys a few times and they're actually really good live...in my opinion.

I went to see them in Glasgow in August. It was amazing and after the 8 year wait, it made it even better and breath taking !!

Wow now, when i started liking blink back in the day (1998) i had shit for liking them, people saying look 14 year olds like Blink! Its the same shit for every generation of band! People saying 14 year olds like you me at six, you were a 14 year old liking Blink at some point, who by the way really sold out on their last album, they were the most mainstream band in the world at one point so lets not pretend there really cool and under ground again!

@Blink fan, I was 10 when I got into Blink, but in no way are they the same as YM@6! Blink made some brilliant albums and songs that will still be played in years to come, can you really say that any of the newish ym@6 stuff is as memorable? Yes, they're not as good as they were but the songs that they made are still brilliant. Save it for the bedroom remains the only ym@6 song I can listen to anymore. And I used to go watch them whenever they played in Leeds! Haha. I was honestly a fan, but they've changed massively.

I agree that its kinda cool different genre bands support each other, like B.O.B supporting paramore. Fair enough they did a duet or whatever together but they didn't have to support paramore and they were really good live.

by the time the Blink 182 gig rolls around in.. 225 days (yes, I've been keeping a countdown) I will have seen YMAS 5 times since I first got into them nearly 3 years ago. You know, before TOYC around WKWIMTBA. Oh, 11 days until the 4th time I'll've seen them.
I honestly cannot wait for Blink. 2 of my favourite bands on one tour. The last time I was this excited for a gig was probably when I found out that YMAS were supporting FOB, and I ran around the house screaming for my two most favourite bands to tour together. Yes, I said it. FOB is my favourite band. Hate me if you want, but I don't care.
Anyway, my point is that if you are saying that YMAS are unfit to support Blink 182, then you are clearly very sad. You need to realise that music does NOT consist of one genre. And people are allowed to like any music they want to - INCLUDING the respective bands. Hence Blink personally asking YMAS to support them. I was dubious when I heard B.O.B was supporting Paramore, but I enjoyed his set; he was a talented performer. As has been said by Matt Lamb, if you don't like YMAS, don't watch it. Or better yet, don't go to the gig at all if you have that sort of attitude towards music. In my opinion, YMAS are very talented, considering their age etc (Josh has only just turned 20). It takes some bands years to get to where they are now. How many other bands of their age write their own songs and music and get to where they are? (Coincidentally, so do McFly.) But no. Stereotype them all you want. They actually do it for themselves, and the enjoyment. and not to please you. so, if you have something against bands doing what THEY want and enjoy, please fuck off, and never buy another album again. thanks.
