Foo Fighters sell out Milton Keynes weekend shows

Foo Fighters have sold out their two-night stand at Milton Keynes Bowl next summer, within hours of going on sale.

The band will headline the 65,000 capacity amphitheatre in Buckinghamshire on July 2 and 3, 2011.

Supporting the Foos at the Milton Keynes extravaganza will be Biffy Clyro on both days, Death Cab For Cutie and Tame Impala on 2 July, and Jimmy Eat World and the Hotrats on 3 July. Former Sugar frontman Bob Mould will serve as special guest DJ for both days.

@Jackg101

you underestimated how fast this would sell out? That's pretty naive if you ask me. I can't really feel sorry for you if you really wanted to go to this. I would have bought my tickets at the day they went on sale if I wanted to go.

Its the touts that are buying all the tickets and scalping people on relsales on ebay. All that needs to be done is for the government to stop the resale of concert tickets, then there would be enough for everone. Either that or cap the price for resale. That would stamp it out. The same thing is happening now every time a big show or tour is announced, its terrible. The people who really want to go cant, or if they do have the money they have to pay through the nose for it.

Thats supply and demand. If you buy a pair of shoes off me for £5, you can sell them at what you want, as long as someone wants to buy them. Why would the government make a law up to stop people selling shoes on for a profit any more than concert tickets. If you dont want to buy off the touts dont. Its like the argument footballers earn too much. Well dont go to the game then.

Foo Fighters.
Biffy Clyro.
Jimmy Eat World.

Many better gig line-ups than that? I'm a lucky guy x] Thank God for Friday mornings off Sixth Form =D

@stu i completely agree with you but then there is the probem with if someone cant make a gig and they need to sell their ticket

Posted by seb | November 5, 2010 9:26 PM | Reply to this

I think there is a difference between ticket touting and footballers, the likes of Wayne Rooney are just making a living from a short lived career, ok its rediculous money they get, thats not the point.

People who buy tickets with no intention of going to the gig and just to make extra cash from true fans is totally disgusting.

It doesnt matter what kind of music you like. if you dont like the band/artist - dont buy the tickets.

I`m totally convinced that the so called "official ticket agents" are supporting the tout culture. Tickets, within minutes appear on their re-sale link for highly inflated prices. I sent Aloud .com , asking for an explanation, the reply was exactly what one would expect. They stated that they appreciate that people buy tickets before realising that they may now not be able to attend. What complete rubbbish. It`s just another way of making even more money as they charge for this service. A person selling one, maybe two tickets months after they`ve purchased their ticket because they now cannot attend maybe feasible, but 20 tickets being posted in less than a minute, well, what can I say. This practice of blatent extortion needs to be stopped. For all those who were able to buy a ticket at face value, WELL DONE! , for those considering buying from either e-bay or through re-sale site, please reconsider.

Big demand for a very average band!

I cannot see what so great about this band? OK first 3 albums were OK, but after that the band have gone down hill.
Over exposed and over hyped!

See the other 64,999 of you on the 3rd of July :D x

Did someone not get a ticket Duane?

@Jelger

Oh don't get me wrong, I knew they would sell out quickly, I just thought In the first few days not in the first few hours. I had college on friday morning so would of been difficult for me to do it. I'd consider myself a fan but haven't really got much money at the moment so it would be kinda difficult. Thats ok, you don't have to feel sorry for me anyway lol. I'm gutted about not going to be able to go but they're one of those bands I love but because of how big they are, It's always going to be difficult travel/financially to go see them. So I'll wait until they perhaps headline a festival here.

SENIUM
This band should open for the Foo Fighters, does anyone else agree? I can't believe more people don't know of this band yet. They are new, I just heard of them by accidentally sticking around after my friend's local gig, I'm so happy I did stick around because they blew me away, I cried in excitement after they played, that's how hard they hit me. I was one of maybe 10 people watching them that night. It was only about 2 weeks ago that I saw them. Their first album isn't out yet, although they were kind enough to give me a burned cd-r copy of it for nothing after their show. It was recorded by the great Steve Albini. I feel like the early 90's style of great music is slowly starting to come back. I would watch this band, my gut says they're going to explode in 2011 when their first album drops. Please do yourself and this amazing new band a big favor and listen to them. I hope everyone likes them as much as I do, they deserve to be playing along side the Foo Fighters!

Derek, Wow! Thank you for posting something about this band Senium! I am bummed about not being able to go to one of these Foo's shows... However, I do not live in the UK anyway and I recently saw Dave Grohl say that we won't be able to get him outta our hair in 2011, so there will be US dates, and I'm sure more UK dates as well! It certainly would be wonderful to see this band Senium open for the Foo's in the US, where they are both from, yes I totally agree with you! Thanks again Derek for letting us (or at least me) know that real rock music still exists! (besides the Foo's!) I think I might have a new favorite band! I am literally blown away, my jaw is on the floor and I have major goosebumps! I just had to reply to your comment you left today! How am I going to get their full album? You said you have it...! Ahhhh, These 4 songs on their myspace just aren't enough!!! Lol. I NEED MORE SENIUM! WHO ARE THESE GUYS? I love what I'm hearing by them. This is the revolutionary band we've all been waiting for.....
