Have Velvet Revolver found a new singer?

Speaking to Kerrang! magazine last month, Slash revealed that Velvet Revolver were busy auditioning replacements for singer Scott Weiland who acrimoniously left the rock supergroup in 2008. And, if the auditions went well, VR would be hitting the studio to start work on the follow up to 2007's Libertad immediately.

"There're two guys we're trying out at the moment, so we'll see how that goes," Slash told K!. "You might not know one of them, the other one you definitely will!"

"I'm off the road until January, so if the stars line-up and we have something going on between now and January, we'll be writing then and there!" he added.

Well, according to a post on Slash's Twitter, it looks like the guitarist is indeed in the studio.

"So far so good in the studio!" wrote Slash. "Got a couple brand new riffs, pretty heavy stuff!"

Does this mean they've found a replacement for Scott? Post your speculations below.

hope so .
saw them way back in newcastle the day before the split, it was there last full performance together, apart from a few songs in glasgow.
but it was amazing and left me guttered with the news, cant wait to hear new stuff defonately going to be worth the wait.

I saw the very last show they performed with Scott in Amsterdam in April 2008 and it was great. Just a shame they couldn't all sort out the differences, but Scott was planning ahead with Stone Temple Pilots then anyway.

Loads (if not nearly all) write music without lyrics. It wouldnt suprise me they're laying down some tracks until the vocals are sorted.

I recon one of them is Miles Kennedy, he was awesome with Slash on his solo shows and probably knows Velvet Revolver tracks

Myles is great and he totally rocked with Slash but I don't want him, I want someone different. I really don't see the point of having Myles again.

It's got to be someone with a bit of edge and danger, that guy is not Kennedy as good a singer as he is, Mike Monroe anyone???

by the way 'Slash in studio' is a piss poor link to a Velvet Revolver new singer revelation. Or is it just a cynical link to merch for sale to right of message board, can't be much more than that, at this stage anywho.

Myles? I dunno, he's still touring with AB I think.

Wolfmother aren't doing anything, maybe their vocalist? He guested on Slash's album.

Or if you're going down that route, my money's on Fergie.

Hope its not Myles, just because i dont want to see the end of the Alter Bridge!

Chris Cornell...
Highly doubt it.
But it would just be cool.

Yup, I feel the same way. It's already been confirmed by Slash that Myles won't be singing in VR anyway, thank god lol. AB are just too explosive a band to have Slash disrupt that ha! ;)
