Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong to return to Broadway

Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong is to reprise his role as St. Jimmy in American Idiot, the Broadway musical based on the band's 2004 multi-million selling album of the same name.

The singer - who performed during a week-long string of shows in September and October - will appear in 50 shows at the St. James Theatre in New York City, from January 1 to February 27.

I'm so thrilled to hear this, even though there is no chance I'll ever get to see the musical. They're all so talented and of corse Green Day are my favourite band and I'm so proud of everything they've achived. It'll be an amazing 50 shows, without a doubt. <3

so still no news about Slipknot recordng for their new album and pretty much saying they're touring again and explaining the bassist situation. Or no news that machine head are recording the follow-up to the blackening atm...oh wait that's metal hammer :P

lol Rob, well said man. the news on Slipknot and Machine head is far more exciting.

perhaps if this musical thing was in the UK and BJA was appearing, then it might be a tad more news worthy.

god, i wish more than anything else that i lived in new york right now!
i would have loved to see him.<3
although, i dont like american idiot the musical as much as i like the band and their music.........
i prefer the 21 guns sung by the band and not the american idiot version :[
