After Rage Against The Machine kept X Factor winner Joe McElderry off the top of the festive charts last Christmas, there has been much debate as to which track rock fans should back in the hope of continuing to piss off Simon Cowell.
In light of Matt Cardle winning the show with his cover of Biffy Clyro's Many Of Horror, there are quite a few Kerrang! readers who'd be up for seeing the original version going to Number One this Christmas. While that would be truly LOLworthy, we'd personally like to see Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor's song X-M@$ at the top of the festive charts. Not only is it a Christmas song - something the X Factor has robbed us of in recent years - it's also for a good cause, too.
All proceeds from the track will be donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust who raise funds, educate, and support teenagers fighting cancer. So watch the video below and then go and buy it online (you can get it for as little as 49p from some digital retailers).
I think this is the worst christmas song I've ever heard. No chance of it getting to number one.

ITS SOOOOOOOOO AWWWWEEEEEEEESSSSSSSOOOOOOOMMMMMMMEEEEEE!!!!!!!! It MUST get top spot! Like mentioned it's a Christmas song for once wich is what CHRISTMAS #1 should be! And no other competitor is. Don't buy Biffy cos the song was in the charts not that long ago and they'll get money from x-factor. PLUS the money goes to such a worthy cause...MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

What kind of video is this?? It's awful. (my Opinion, Don't bother Arguing with me Please lol)
this is ok but it wont get 2 no.1 if its true that the man from the go compare advert is also trying 2 get 2 no.1.
also i heard that some rhiana girl has also decided 2 make a x-mas no.1 shes pretty big so i bet that'll be at the chart tops.
be cool if this does succeed.

As long as x factor doesn't get it then I'm happy

I happily brought Killing in the name last year, but I won't be buying this. Killing in the name has decent meaning, not to mention the song is a classic in it's own way. This is just something Corey Taylor has knocked up in a few minutes in the hope of getting it to number 1 in the UK. No campaign at all. Last year, RATM were none the wiser while the campaign was being organised. Sure, anythings better than X-Factor getting number one, but I won't be buying the opposing song this year. Not just because the song is awful, but because everything about the whole idea would just be annoying. And Slipknot fans, if you wanna bollock me, then do it. You're in denial if you think it's going to get number one, and if you think the song is actually 'great'.
What made it for last year was the fact that people who hated the whole idea of it came together to buy the song. The campaign triumphed, thankfully. This time, people who hate the X Factor just find the whole idea tedious. But yes, If anything, i'd like to see the original version of Many of Horror go top.

i fucking LOVE this song <3 it Has to make number 1!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
Its nice of Kerrang to support this song, especially with the good cause but seriously you're trying to hard. There is already about 5 songs that have been suggested such as Biffy's version of Many of Horror, The silent one and that shit annoying family guy one. Im supporting biffy and i think its a bit late for new people to enter the running. I know its been out a while but no need to keep at it. Good luck with the charity though :)

Tom...I thought you'd have heard...that 'annoying Family Guy one' was released by The Trashmen in 1963. A whole 45/46 years before Family Guy repopularised it. Still, I'm on the fence regarding the song itself.

Surfin' Bird!

It might be a for a good cause but fair play it's shit! surfing bird ftw ;)
@jackg101 Corey actually wrote this song a few years ago so it's not like he wrote it this year thinking he'd get it to Christmas number one. Besides he's doing this to raise money for CANCER atleast that's a worth cause unlike Killing in the name of last year... yeah it made a stand and showed that x factor no longer dominate the Christmas Charts but Corey Taylor is doing this for a worthy cause and i don't know if you even read the whole article properly which i'm guessing you didn't cause it says "All proceeds from the track will be donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust who raise funds, educate, and support teenagers fighting cancer." So Corey wont actually be benefiting from immediate sales.. Yeah the song might be saying f@ck you to Christmas but Corey's giving those teenagers a voice lighten up seriously those kids are battling with a life threatening disease that might not make it to next Christmas think yourself lucky.

its for a good cause so i will be getting it
Posted by kit kat | December 13, 2010 6:36 PM | Reply to this
The only reason it's for a good cause is 'cause he's realised it won't do shit otherwise. He's leeching success for himself off the pain of cancer victims. Fuck him and his crappy attempt to look good.

@ Purple Demon It's not exactly fair saying that though how would you feel if you was a parent and your child was suffering from cancer at least you'd be pleased that someones actually trying to do something bout raising awareness and trying to raise money if you had the chance you probably wouldn't do a fucking thing. Some people are just so far up their own arse that they feel the need to insult anyone they can't stand yeah he has a lot of money and he's in one of the most successful metal bands but at least he's not sitting around his arse doing fuck all he's actually trying to make a difference other wise all proceeds wouldn't be going to the cancer trust it'd be going to him..

Erm... no. I will not buy this trash. Let Corey Taylor release a good song, and then I'll buy it.
Posted by Patrick | December 13, 2010 7:34 PM | Reply to this
Corey Taylor wrote this song as a joke, he wasn't even gonna record it.
so why are you all so butthurt when 1. it's a joke. and 2. the procedings go to a good cause.
who gives a fuck about charts?! O_O

I'm glad the proceeds are going to charity, you messed around with my words and implied that I didn't care.

the song is pants (like all xmas songs ever recorded).... but never the less it cheers me up!!! Nice one Corey

to the people that say this is a bad video and song: it's SUPPOSED to be bad!
corey's making fun of how much the reality of christmas really does suck. so it's supposed to be stupid and funny, it's not meant to be taken literally though the lyrics are true.
think about that for a minute. and if you still hate it, who cares? a lot of people like it and did you even read the part about the money going to a teenager cancer fund?
Posted by MissyH | December 15, 2010 7:24 PM | Reply to this
i like the song but the lyrics are pretty stupid it isn't a christmas song unless it has christmassy and jolly christmas

This song is absolute pants! Killing in the name had an actual meaning to it, this is absolutely shit and was obviously written and recorded in about an hour. If corey dicides to write a decent song i'll buy it... Oh and if anyone is gonna get christmas number one apart from that matt guy it should be Biffy Clyro.

What're you guys talking about? It's fucking epic and hilarious! The "Hi Simon" at the end is he best! I'm not that into Christmas so it's a perfect song for me! Corey's made a beast side to Christmas <3 So much better than these cheesy load of bollocks that everyone else comes up with. Plus it's raising money for cancer.
SO LEAVE THIS GODDAMN SCROOGE THE FUCK ALONE <3
