No new Slipknot album says Corey Taylor

Following yesterday's report that Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison is working on a new Slipknot album, the band's frontman Corey Taylor insists that's not an option for him. That said, the singer hinted that Slipknot might perform live together next year.

"Before anyone gets the wrong idea, let me be clear: I have NO PLANS to make a new Slipknot album anytime soon," wrote Taylor on Twitter. "Shows? Maybe. Album? No."

In a subsequent Tweet, Taylor directly addressed Jordison's claims saying: "As for Joey's comments, he took that on himself to say that in print. I can think of five people in this band who haven't written/heard a thing."

I'm not saying this because I don't like Slipknot, they're one of my favourite bands and have been for over 10 years now, but I'm honestly hoping that they don't continue working together it just wouldn't feel right. If they do continue as Slipknot I hope they don't get any new members and maybe get Clown on bass guitar.

Slipknot needs to come back! people I'm talking about the bottom of my heart ... I follow slipknot for 4 years and still have not seen the best band slipknot infirm. every day of my life, after the death of Paul Gray, I ask God to give great strength to the members of slipknot went ahead and continue this journey so beautiful it is slipknot. I know it is difficult to return without paul gray, but please slipknot is one here who speaks for millions of fans of slipknot, we do not live without you consiguriamos trees be SO WHY DO WE GO OF EVERYTHING YOU LOVE SLIPKNOT.

I know it must be very difficult for Slipknot return after the death of Paul Gray, but we beg to please you, SLIPKNOT YOU HAVE TO BACK PLEASE. Personally I speak for myself and the world listens to slipknot that we would not live without slipknot. Slipknot is our life! and do not want to lose something of our lives are! just think about it!

Is it just me who doesnt get how you got that Slipknot may do live shows next year from that tweet, nowhere did it mention 2011 at all, it only said Corey and the band might think about Shows ;s It will be hard for them to return fully without Paul Gray, so give them time, dont push them.

Honestly, I think bringing out a new album this soon could have completely broken the band. Corey saying that shows are a possibility tells us that he still wants it to work, but the 'maybe' makes it pretty sure to me that they're taking things as they come, doing whatever feels right & doing it in honour of Paul. So pushing them to come back will never work. All I can say is that if they don't, then they were an incredible band that just couldn't have continued without their brother. But if they reunite, then they are honourable men & I sincerely look forward to whatever they are going to bring to the metal world. Maggot!! <3
