Atreyu go on hiatus

Atreyu have revealed that they have gone on hiatus. However, don't think that the Orange County metallers are breaking up.

An official statement from the band reads as follows:

"Hey all. You have asked, so here goes. Atreyu is taking a long, long break after 11 years of rocking. We aren't breaking up but we aren't writing recording or touring for a while. Simply taking a break to recharge and focus on different parts of our lives. Much love.

"All of us have other projects we are excited about and urge you to check them out if you miss us too much."

"Thanks to everyone who has supported us and given us a reason to exist over the past 11yrs. We hope to see you again 1 day. Until next time..."

AS much as this sucks I completely understand. Sometimes you just need a break. Especially since they just put out their best album.

I do like them and all but seriously. . . . . .
Lead sails was the downfall of Atreyu
prehaps this break will do them good and we'll have the old atreyu back before they tried that metalcore mainstream sound.

ah bugger, there was me hoping for new material come the end of the year, early next year. Oh well at least congregation of the damned was an absolute stormer

Atreyu <3

Every human being at some point in their lives needs to take a step back to take two steps forwards, these guys are human beings and as well as music have their own personal lifes to contend with, i.e. families, bills, etc... I think it's great that such an awesome band is going as strong as ever after all these years, hopefully we won't have to wait too long until Atreyu...

I wish they had let us know before their last gig supporting Bullet!

I wish they could of done a headliner just in case it was goodbye. Gonna miss Atreyu!

seriously? what does their last 2 albums have to do with a break? all of their albums are AMAZING. they deserve a break. when they come back, they'll be better then ever.
