In a world exclusive interview in this week's Kerrang! magazine Blink 182 talk openly and frankly about their past differences, their reunion and what they've got in store for their sixth studio album; a record which nearly didn't get off the ground because they were being too nice to each other!
"[When we reformed] everything was so fresh and so new, it was like we were all gathered around this precious flame that we were all trying to protect," bassist / vocalist Mark Hoppus tells Kerrang!. "We were so respectful of one another that we were all walking on eggshells, and it was all too nice.
"But fortunately we all realised that we really needed to be a proper band before we started recording," he added. "Now I feel like we're comfortable enough in our friendship again to not only be able to support each other, but also to be able to say, 'Hey, that idea is cool, but what about if we did it this way?' and not feel like anyone was going to have their feelings crushed. It was important for us to turn that corner."
