Foo Fighters want YOU to make their next video

Foo Fighters have revealed they want a fan to direct their next music video.

"Foo Fighters have worked with some of the top directors in the business including Michel Gondry, Mark Pellington, Jesse Peretz, Sam Brown & The Malloy, but now it's your turn," reads a post on thisvideosucks.foofighters.com. "The band is giving 11 aspiring directors the opportunity to create a music video for a song from their new album which drops this spring. The videos will premiere on [U.S. music cable channel] Fuse.

"This could be your big break," they continue. "So what are you waiting for? Upload your reel and show us what you've got!"

The band's new as-yet-untitled album will be released in April.

WTF? what is the point of telling people if it's only for residents of the untied states? this is a british new, only a small amount compared to the majority will be able to do this

Hey Essie,

You see that 'www' bit in the Kerrang! website address? That stands for 'world wide web'. It might be a UK website but 90% of the traffic for this website might come from the US for all you know....

Hey Globe,

Whilst the site is available worldwide, Kerrang is a British magazine and the majority of it's traffic is from the UK (http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/kerrang.com)

Essie's right, the 'YOU' in the title will only apply to a tiny portion of the audience and is deceptive to the rest...

No need to be a such condescending bastard...

Well, if you'll permit me to be a slightly more condescending bastard FU, I'd suggest you a) check the information on links you post more carefully and b) get a rudimentary grasp of mathematics.

The info on that alexa.com page states "We estimate that 40% of visitors to this site come from the UK."

A simple calculation will tell you then that an estimated 60% of the traffic comes from outside the UK. And therefore, contradicting what you've written above, the majority of the site traffic doesn't come from the UK.

Thanks for the info. :)

Haha, I like you.

It was my interpretation that the statistics were based on individual countries rather than UK Vs Rest of the World.

My actual point was that the portion of the audience from the US is significantly lower than that of the UK, and thus it should be at least clear in the post that the competition is only open to US residents.

Thanks for the maths tips :)

If only the contest is open worldwide, I will do a video shoot with my friends during my term break and make my all-time favorite band proud. I'm a huge fan of the Foo Fighters, and I've been studying video production and all thing multimedia arts for a few years already. I'd love to make a music video with Dave Grohl and his company!
