AFI frontman to star in Green Day musical

AFI vocalist Davey Havok is set to take over from Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong in the Broadway adaptation of the band's 2004 album American Idiot Kerrang! can reveal.

Armstrong's 50-show run as St. Jimmy, the lead character in American Idiot: The Musical is set to end on February 27. Havok will take over the role on March 1 for a two week stint.

Okay, I have seen American Idiot three times and it is so FUCKING AMAZING!!!! I saw Billie as St. Jimmy and I practically had a heart attack... and musical aren't shit, they're awesome. I don't think Green Day sold out at all and if you do, fuck you.

To the person talking about the "Green Day torture"...

Green Day aren't given even a quarter of the publicity that K! give to MCR, Paramore and 30stm.

Nowadays GD are nearly becoming underrated while the above bands are mercilessly shoved in our faces. Rejoice at seeing GD, it means less Williams, Way and Leto! :P
