Evanescence start recording new album?

Black Label Society drummer Will Hunt, who also pounds the skins for Evanescence, has left the band's European tour to return to the US to start work with "another project".

"Will Hunt has had to commit to another project; therefore, Black Label Society has tapped [ex-Type O Negative drummer] Johnny Kelly to fill in for the remainder of the European Tour," reads an official statement. "Black Label Society is thrilled to have Johnny on board and cannot wait to annihilate the rest of Europe!"

Could this mean that Evanescence are about to start work on the long awaited follow-up to 2006's The Open Door?

Yeah, Evanescence are returning to studio next week on March 1st 2011 to record the new album! They're going in with 30 songs and will be writing more when they get in there! Woot! http://tinyurl.com/5wtj933

They have actually pissed me off because we have been kept in the dark about this. No evanescence.com update since last winter. No tweets or updates from Amy. Makes me pissed, and almost want to say fuck them. But I can't. I can't wait to hear the new album. Just hope it was worth it and that they start treating their fans better. If it happens again, I won't ever buy their shit again. (unless there is an IMMACULATE excuse for this type silence). Stop the bullshit Evanescence.

If you kept up with the news updates and all of the tweets from Amy, Terry AND Will as well as the various posts on EvThreads you would see that their absence has been explained. The album was coming along great until Wind-Up went through major difficulties. You may have seen that Wind-Up was purchased by Sony I believe? That's the reason. It was completely out of the bands control and I think it's unfair to point the finger so quickly without knowing the facts. Peace.

Yep, it's all true! They have a new producer, Nick Raskulinecz, and they have a whopping 30 songs written! I'm desperately excited. This is gonna be the best album EVER!

im annoyed that their new album is taking so long buuuuut they can take as long as they like! if it takes a million years for them to produce the perfect album then ill be patient for them cos
im a fan. its important for a band to live a little first in order to write about something real, so time is inevitable so stop your bitching and have a little faith in them. im behind them 100% and hope that their next project is a good one! 8)

amy lee is probably the most fake person in music.

dresses like a chav every other day but comes out dressed like a goth trout when its time to sell some music.

this band remind me of paramore, its "all about her" and the rest of the band will forever be in her shadow.

fucking dreadful.

Hey Andymark, shut it.

What do you want her to do, wear ballgowns of tartan when she lounging watching tv or going to the shops?

It's not all about her, she just happens to be the only original member, so naturally she'll get more attention. Oh, and she's the lead singer. Fancy that.

I think your attitude is the dreadful thing here.

I wonder what happened to the material they recorded last year? I saw some video of them working on it. Maybe the record company didn't like the direction and had them scrap it.

At any rate, I wish they weren't my favorite band because of the long wait between albums, but I can't help it. I love Amy's voice and I love their sound. Hope the next album is good!

I'm sceptic, but if they're actually truly and really working on a new album, then I'm happy. Post production usually (in the music biz) means working on the cd, not neccessarily the songs, so we'll see. I loved Open Door (who didn't?) but 'Together Again' had me worried that their stuff would become repetitious - did anyone else clue in to the sound-alike to 'like you'?

Anyway. If they're working on stuff, and they're going to get an album out this year, then thats awesome. I just hope this isn't more hype (last march, anyone?)
