Corey Taylor: "I'm scared to death of playing without Paul"

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has told Kerrang! that he's terrified of playing live without former bassist Paul Gray at the band's comeback gigs this summer.

"I'm scared to death," he told K!. "I'm nowhere near prepared for the emotion that's going to happen. That first show [in Athens, Greece on June 17] is really going to be the test. That tour for the most part is going to be a test. It's very hard, man... It's still reverberating through my life... We're coming up to the year anniversary of his death [in May], and I still can't fucking handle it."

"It's still reverberating through my life," he added. "Every day something reminds me and I still can't fucking handle it."

well said JoJo...'Paul Gray' you are nothing but a disrespectful piece of shit...fan or not didn't your parents ever teach you to have respect for the dead. irrespective of your musical tastes Paul was a brilliant bassist and was taken way too soon as were many other people last year. your complete lack of respect sickens me...you would expect people to respect you when you are dead so why do u think its ok to disrespect others who have died??? get a grip you prize idiot and buy ur self some respect off ebay whilst ur at it!!!

Sophie - don't be so sure. Paul said in an interview before that the band just wasn't the same and wasn't the band when not everyone was there. So for the band to carry on without him, I don't feel that would be right.

jen -- yeah I guess, but i think paul wouldn't have wanted to end slipknot just because of one member, and I mean it would be hard without him but music is the life of every slipknot member, and it would be really crappy for everything they worked for to be over because of one really bad incident

Paul Gray was a legend & people should have a bit more respect, it's excrutiatingly hard for Corey & the other members of Slipknot. So what if they take about it now & again, its probably a big help for them. I'm really looking forward to seeing them at Sonisphere & I think they will honourably call it a day after the tour in summer.

We'll never forgot Slipknot, they completely changed the metal world.
