Evanescence to record new album next week

Evanescence vocalist Amy Lee has revealed that the band will enter the studio on April 11 with producer Nick Rasculinecz (Foo Fighters, Stone Sour) to begin work on their follow-up to their 2006 release, The Open Door.

"We can't wait to show everyone what we've been working on," says Amy. "We've been finding ourselves, reinventing our sound, experimenting with things we've never done before and at the same time embracing the things we love most about Evanescence. This journey has made us the strongest we've ever been as a band, and I am in love with the music. Nick Rasculinecz is the perfect fit for this record and we are all very excited to get into the studio together."

Great news! With all the set backs out of their control i.e. label issues, it's great to see the band getting back into the studio! Good luck with it and give it your all. Can't wait to have this album in my hands.

this is amazing news! been a big fan of Evanescence since day 1 of their first album and have always stuck by them as a fan regardless of the bad news whats been about the band over the past few years. im so excited about the new album and im sure Amy Lee will have put 110% of her effort into it x

Hopefully this will come out this eyar to join other female fronted rock bands who have or are going to release albums this year! Although its going to be hard to beat Within Temptation with 'The Unforgiving', that album is amazing!

I'm kind of happy they changed producers to Nick Raskulinecz to be honest. The albums he produced with Stone Sour, Deftones and Alice in Chains were awesome!

I love Evanescence! I think the idea of a new album from them is absolutely great. Keep up the good work!

Also what I love is also the fact that they begin recording on the day of my birthday. Sweet!

yeah it wont be the same without Ben Moody.. I miss the sound of Fallen.. but it's okay, Ben has his own way and so does Evanescence right now :) cant wait for this one!

Long-time-coming is the understatement of the century. Amy Lee and evanescence are too good for words, i love them so much! Her voice (no matter what people say) is beyond amazing. I am stoked!
