"There might not be another 30 Seconds To Mars album"

In tomorrow's Kerrang! magazine (on sale Wednesday, April 27) 30 Seconds To Mars frontman Jared Leto gives us an exclusive update on what's in store for the LA rock titans.

The interview Leto reveals that there might not be another 30 Seconds To Mars album!

"When I start a new record it ends up being a pretty involved affair; you need the time, energy and space to appropriately address it," Leto told K! "We're touring probably right until December. We're talking about it right now, but you never know, there could not be another record.

"We're not bound to continue walking down a path unless we're really inspired to do so," he added.

I am pretty upset. But he didn't exactly say they were stopping. They said they don't wanna do something if they're not feeling it anymore. They might get another thought of carrying on, you never know. But they never said they'll stop. If worst comes to worst and they do stop, maybe they'll do an My Chemical Romance and just have a break... But, just remember Mars, even though we might be sad, the echelon will always be behind you, no matter what.

excuse me.
what I withdraw from this interview is that 30stm doesn't like to live in the past or the future. they live NOW. and so they're not thinking about making another album.. YET. they're also very preoccupied with the TIW tour. and trust me, they will find more inspiration, and there will be another album in jared's soon. which means in a cuple of years. but thats okey, because they're worth waiting for.

He said 'might not be', therefore there is still a chance that they will decide to make another album. If they don't, it's their choice. Better to leave it as 3 brilliant albums, rather than make another when their hearts arn't in it.

These guys are truly tired! Been to a few shows and they give 200%, but you can tell. They have a jam packed schedule and I'm sure it's taking a toll. I would be truly heartbroken if there was not another album, though.

To be honest, (and I'm saying this as a 30stm fan) I'm not all that suprised. They have been touring an awful lot, and I kind of lost faith with them after their last album. Maybe it was just me who was disappointed, but I only really liked maybe three tracks off the entire album. I'm not saying that I hope they don't make an album, but, to me at least, it wouldn't be the end of the world if they didn't.

People stop panic! He didn't say, that they are quitting tomorrow or this year. There's gonna be no album this year, maybe not next year, but we all know Jared, he is profesionalist, he doesn't wanna give us a piece of s*hit. To be honest, I would be happy, if they had a break. They are all exhausted. Jared was sick a few times, even Shannon, they really should take a few months rest. But they are touring till December, so there will be no rest till christmas :(
And remember what Jared said one time: that he will make a music till the ent!

Wow there's alot of drama queens here! I too love 30STM but in all honesty, these guys need a well deserved break. They've been doing a massive tour with hardly any breaks..its bound to take its toll! Sometimes a band needs to take a year or maybe two until they feel ready to record again, and by the sounds of it, it's what they may well need. It doesn't mean they as a band are finished.

Sometimes some of you fans are quite selfish in wanting something new so quickly. Just remember, they may be your favourite band, but they are also just human, with lives outside of the music and tours. They've done alot to please the fans since This Is War came out, so it'll soon be time for them to chill out. Stop acting like spoilt brats!

Saying a band is a disgrace to rock music is stupid and pointless.

Rock music has many different genres in which hundreds of bands all fit into. There's no right or wrong. If you dont like a band for the simple reason you dont like their music, fine. No problem. But hating on a band because of their fans or because of your opinion on a singer/musician is just stupid and childish.

I'm sorry guys, as much as it pains me to say this, but I agree with The Man Who Ruined Christmas. This Echelon crap is really pathetic, it's just another crappy band who hopped on a popular band waggon, grew a fringe and put on make-up and black clothes, it's nothing new, it's been done before, and better, it was called Goth. I hate putting 30STM in the mag, they've really dragged out name into the dirt. They realised they were a dying bread, and pulled the classic "We aren't making another album" crap on you idiots who hang on their every word, just to get put back in the spotlight and get some undeserved attention. I personally hope that this is just a wind up as I'm a massive fan and enjoy the work of 30STM.

To be fair I'm a fellow echelon and I absolutely adore mars <3 and I think their will be another album as they're passonate about the music and they could double the amount of money that this is war has brought them, along with the previous albums and they know they are good so o don't think they are going to let that talent go to waist. :)

They have been touring for a long time, its necessary for them to have a break! And if it means they can have more time to create another epic album then so be it. i think he will fnd inspiration through everything in the world he is seeing at the moment. remember, he helped in haiti, and i think there will be a few songs he could sing about that.. also, he has seen many different cultures, which could be another turning point albu wise to sing ahout (think about it, BL and TIW were a lot different..)

NEWS: I went to a concert of theirs a few weeks ago, and Jared taught the audience a song, and then had us sing the song so he could use us on their next ablbum (similar to the back up singing on kings and queens) just a thought

I agree. I saw them back in September at the HOB in Myrtle Beach. I was blown away! I've been to a LOT of shows and this was the best I've ever seen. HOWEVER, I saw ten in Raleigh, NC last week and was extremely disappointed. We were standing in the rain with the other Echelon awaiting the concert of a lifetime. Instead someone decided to play 5 songs, drop some awesome confetti fortunes, and do two songs for an encore. I couldn't believe what happened. I would love to know!

Of course 30STM aren't finishing! Of course there's going to be another album one day! Jared is saying that now because he's so tired, and I don't blame him. Jared, Shannon and Tomo all seriously need to get some rest and think of themselves for once. To be honest I think they should stop touring now and go and relax and have some time to themselves because all of that touring is bound to take its toll on you.
And, besides, he is living his dream right now and there are so many Echelon out there; why would he want to just ditch all of that? They will be in the recording studio again, just not for a few years. And I can wait for as long as they need because it'll be so worth the wait. Also they've actually only just released This Is War, so you need to give them a chance, and they need to take a well deserved break.
Btw, fuck the haters. Ignore them. They're talking bullshit.

Hy! Well do we have to consider this answer as definitive? I don't think so. But if it is the case, I have a great respect to 30 Seconds to Mars, who chose to stop on a success, rather than to put a lot into a new album without conviction, what will be reflected in quality. Real artists are the ones who have the intelligence to not run after the best place in chartlist and have a true love for music, the others are only interessted in performance and making money.

Does no one monitor these posts? Damn. I'm a fan of 30STM, but I'm not freaking out about them possibly "retiring" after this album.

Seriously though, some of the posts you people are making have NOTHING to do with the article. Shit, this is worse then when "Yahoo! chat" was a big thing.

LMAO. Some of you guys are ridiculous.

Obviously you have sad lives with nothing better to do. You want to try to stop hating people because they love a band and get off the computer and go be a human. Calling people vile things over a subject as stupid as this is seriously wrong.

Yes I love 30STM and no I don't believe it for a second because this is just Jared's sense of humour.

Echelon be happy to have 30STM in your lives still.

Haters go and find something better to do with your time.

We all have opinions and things we don't like but we don't purposely search out people to insult because of it.

And for those of you that don't like Kerrang! beacuse of all the 30STM coverage..how about get off the Kerrang site? Go read something else? -.-

I Love 30STM but I have
to admit i really didnt like how poppy
this is war sounded they had a great rock feel to go with their lyrics but destroyed it then by making this is war dancy, so i really hope their not planning on not coming back with another album because i wud lv to see them come out with something like the 1st 2 albums put together!

Ok, I would just like to say, that some of these comments are just plain ridiculous. In particular I'm referring to those people who are saying that 30STM are an insult to rock music, firstly, this is such a stupid comment given that even bands such as Coldplay are classified as rock music. Secondly, I find it incredibly hard to believe that anyone of you are in a position to judge a musician such as Jared Leto, who is without doubt one of the most multi-talented people in the music industry today, considering his talents not just as a singer, guitarist and songwriter but also as an actor and director. Hence, I just think that all the haters should go off and out-class him then come back and lay down all the abuse you like.
