Velvet Revolver recorded with Corey Taylor

The rumours that Slipknot / Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor is being lined up as the new singer of Velvet Revolver have been doing the rounds since October 2009. Yet, while both camps have been keen to deny these claims, VR bassist Duff McKagan has confirmed that the band have recorded several tracks with Taylor.

"We recorded a bunch of songs with Corey," McKagan told Music Radar. "I think he's fucking great - he's the best voice of a new generation and I'd be proud to do anything with him."

That said, McKagan says that not only can he see Taylor fronting VR, he doesn't know when the band are getting back together to work on new material.

"The truth is, I can't see Velvet Revolver happening until at least the autumn," he added. "Slash is touring, I'm just starting to tour - we'll just have to see. I don't have an answer."
