And the nominees are...

My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds To Mars, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine and Bring Me The Horizon will go head-to-head at the Kerrang! Awards 2011 Fuelled By Relentless Energy Drink in June.

My Chemical Romance lead the charge with five nominations. The New Jersey rockers are in the running for Best Album for Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys, Best International Band, Best Video presented by Kerrang! TV for Na Na Na, Best Single presented by Kerrang! Radio for Planetary (GO!), and Best Live (presented by Download) at the star-studded ceremony, which is set to take place at a top-secret location in London on Thursday, June 9.

"The UK has always been one of our favourite places to play as band, and we are so grateful for these nominations and the continued support from Kerrang!, the readers and our fans," says My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way. "Thank you for the recognition and we hope to see you this summer."

30 Seconds To Mars are up for four awards: Best International Band and Best Live, and their track Hurricane has been nominated for Best Video and Best Single. In hot pursuit are Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, and Bring Me The Horizon, who are nominated for three Kerrang! Awards each. All Time Low polled highly too, picking up two nominations for Best Live and Best International Band.

"The competition is really hotting up!" says Kerrang!'s Deputy Editor Daniel J. Lane. "It's been an amazing year for our music and it's really exciting to see such a diverse range of bands in the running for this year's K! Awards. I personally love the fact that our very own homegrown heroes Bullet For My Valentine, Bring Me The Horizon and The Blackout are going head-to-head with big name U.S. heavyweights like My Chemical Romance, 30 Seconds To Mars and Avenged Sevenfold. But, as ever, it's up to the Kerrang! readers to decide who gets to walk away with one of our coveted K! trophies on the night. So get voting!"

Other awards to be presented on the night include The Kerrang! Icon Award and The Kerrang! Inspiration Award presented by HMV.

Last month, we announced that Ozzy Osbourne is to be honoured with The Kerrang! Legend Award at the ceremony. Ozzy will perform an exclusive show at London's Hammersmith Apollo on June 21, as part of Kerrang!'s 30th birthday celebrations. Tickets are on sale now from www.aloud.com.

Not suprised by all the MCR nominations. I do like them but I'm not sure if they deserve that many awards. Great to see Bullet for my Valentine, Bring me the Horizon and The Blackout gets those nominations though.

People need to get over MCR, Paramore and 30 Seconds To Mars, they get nominated even when they do fuck all!

What is your problem with 30 Seconds to Mars? Don't like them? Ok, who cares. Why do we always have to criticize other bands? If they got nominated it means that they deserve (and they really DO DESERVE) to be. They've done a wonderful work with This is War, and a huge worldwide tour to try to reach all the fans around the world. Maybe a lot of bands who are nominated here didn't do it. I agree, many Mars' fans aren't REAL fans, but I guess this happens for a lot of bands, unluckily.

Really hope that Young Guns get Best Video. They're such lovely, hard working lads and they truly deserve such an accolade. They might not have spent thousands of pounds on 'Stitches', but is really is such a classy, gorgeous video and I hope that people recognise that. As for the other nominations, it'd be cool to see Hyro Da Hero win one! I never expected to like this music, but after seeing him at Hit The Deck I was blown away. Fingers crossed both he and Young Guns get the awards that they deserve!

Its all very well telling people lamenting the nominations to respect that other people have different opinions, but you wouldn't think it from the state of the nominations every year. Has the steady rise of the Black Spiders been overlooked completely? Revoker? There's two British bands worthy of a nod right there - granted, Revoker's album has only just come out - but what a bloody shame different sounding upcoming British talent constantly gets overlooked on this site. No wonder it's in such a state.

And as far as international bands go, surely Kvelertak for a newcomer shout? Their record was certainly one of the most original of last year.

Those are just my personal opinions, of course. But the same bands get nominated year in, year out - even the Brit Awards has more versatility than this. Surely the rock demographic stretches somewhat further than what's on offer here? Evidently not. I'd rather the awards nominees were decided by a panel, where they might be judged slightly more on merit and actual talent, rather than popularity and good looks, followed then by a public vote. Sure, the Kerrang Awards isn't exactly the Grammy Awards, that would be better than practically confirming the winners before the awards have taken place?

This isn't a call for harder rock or metal at all, just one for a bit more diversity and a bit more support for the true face of the UK and international underground rock and metal scenes. Until then, absolutely zero interest in the awards from here on in.

We all know MCR will win everything, not because they deserve to but because their fans are obssesive and are brainwashed. Would love to see some different bands nominated for once. No Iron Maiden even though they've been touring constantly and released a brilliant album last year. There is no sense in this.

TBH the nominations are varied, although in my opinion Asking Alexandria really deserve the nomination, as well as bring me the horizon as i have seen them both this year at sell out shows. Alot of people with a different music taste may consider this to be totally bollock but i think that its about time somehting mew came along instead of holing onto older bands of a few years or decades ago like Maiden, MCR, Green Day and FFAF we should embrace the new shit!

You know what would be nice Kerrang? If next year you chose the awards yourself and based them on things like album sales and whether they sold out venues or not, instead of opening this farce up to a pack of teenies to vote for whichever face they have on their wall this week. None of these nominations are based on talent. And Green Day have done just as much as 30STM, it's just their fans aren't quite as pyschotic as the Echelon.

I think they really deserve all of that, they try so hard to get where they are.

And with the people saying about the new music does, it's not all that good. I've heard BVB, I don't like thme but I respect them... WAY too much makeup though (They look like Tokio Hotel...)
Although, Green Day should have got a mention, but it's the fans that nominated the bands.

Now, why are you all saying that it isn't based on talent? The true fans of bands nominate the bands for that because they have talent. It could be that they have lots of bands they like, but choose their favourites.

these nominations came from votes from fans on the website. if your fave band was not nominated, they need to get themselves a few more fans. simple.

yes mcr, 30stm, paramore etc always get all the noms. because they have a million fans. so if they win awards kerrang sells a million copies.

if black spiders or kvelertak win (no offense peter or black spiders or kvelertak) - kerrang sells 1000 copies. supporting minority bands might be good in asense, but it's not gonna pay kerrang's rent.

Avenged Sevenfold deserve to win best live band, best album and best international band. They truly are as good live as they are on their albums, Nightmare is an amazing album, their lyrics are so meaningful, showing their true emotions over the death of The Rev. I personally think they deserve to win the awards they've been nominated for, to show them that we, the fans, haven't lost faith in them.

I accept 30STM they have new videos which are pretty good, BFMV well deserved. ADTR they own everything. A7X nothing more then GOD! francesqa small band but pretty cool. BVB grown a lot because of their awesome stuff. MCR dont really like them but they have new album which loads of people like so not complaining. BMTH awesomness! right all these bands deserve something but fucking paramore and fucking YMAS! what the actual fuck?

30 STM - really! They ruined the MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool back in 2008 mainly due to Jippo Letwhore farting about as a guest presenter.

until you fucking know how much effort 30 Seconds to Mars - especially Jared - put into every single fucking thing they do, keep your fucking mouth shut. They have worked so hard to get to where they are and they're not out there to please every fucking person on the planet, but until you really know about them, shut the fuck up, because they mean everything to me and a hell of a lot of other people. Not everyone is so narrow-minded that they put down everything Mars do because they don't like Jared; some people just accept that he doesn't give a shit what other people think and 99% of the time he's lying, because not many people really care about the answers. And the reason they're nominated here is because people voted for them, which says something about the support from the Echelon.

When are people going to realise that 30stm have not had to work hard to get to where they are. They have got to where they are because Jared Ego is an actor. Life has been pretty simple and straightforward for them. 30stm have not struggled in any sort of way that most bands go through and had everything handed to them.

You teenies have no idea about music. When I was your age I was listening to Nine Inch Nails, Sepultura, Godflesh, My Dying Bride, Burzum, Biohazard etc and it was bands like these that Kerrang used to feature - not the pop music you kids are listening to!

LOAD OF HORSE SHIT! I don't mind BFMV, A7X.. but FEVER & Nightmare were were out in 2010?! Give some credit to bands this year who have put a record! And that is precisely where Kerrang went downhill. I remember the days went they weren't afraid to put a band like Napalm Death or Dimmu Borgir on the front cover, where a band like New Found Glory might actually line-up alongside a band like Strapping Young Lad every week. It used to make for a diverse read.

That was back during the nu-metal era, and even then, it didn't pander to that scene every bloody week. In the last few years, its all been about sales, sales and more sales, with blanket coverage of certain bands that is so intense, that if Smash Hits were still going, they might just blush a little.

If your philosophy is that certain bands don't deserve a look-in simply cos they ain't getting on a cover of a magazine, or aren't breaking into the mainstream charts, then a large chunk of your musical soul is dead. I used to be able to rely on Kerrang for discovering new bands I gave a damn about. They introduced me to Torche - who have barely featured in the magazine since - and likewise Gojira. The last band I cared for on such a level in the introducing section was Ghost - and I'd heard of them several months before.

Sure, the internet has taken over a large portion of that, but there was nothing like seeing a band that you really take to heart actually getting coverage in a mainstream magazine. That they seemed to be forgotten about all too quickly is another matter altogether.

The UK underground is filled with credible talent these days - Black Spiders, Eureka Machines, Your Demise, Architects, Revoker, Tesseract - those are just to name a few. While none of those are doing anything particularly groundbreaking, they do what they do really well, yet instead the attention goes to bands simply becoming more and more watered down as the years pass by, identikit bands with identical sounds.

Paul Gambaccini got it wrong when he said rock was dead - it's very much still alive - but if you were looking in from the outside, you wouldn't hold much hope, would you?

Come on Kerrang, make the nominations panel based, at least then we can have a fairer representation of the emerging talent and of the bands with true critical acclaim - I noticed the glaring omission of Deftones 'Diamond Eyes' too - wasn't that your album of 2010?

There's never a variety of different bands, it's always the same... I do love most of the bands that have been nominated like YM@6, MCR, ATL 30STM etc etc but....there needs to be just different ones and also i think GreenDay shoulda been nominated for something although they havent done an album or anything this year, they've released a dvd and their awesome broadway show!!! <3 <3 That is all :) xo

Well, some of you might think that none of the bands have any talent, but did you vote for your favourite band? Did any of the band's fans vote for bands that didn't get in?
There may be bands on there that I hate, Paramore being one, but I think that they do deserve to win something because of their talent.
Yes, I voted for MCR, but for live band, come on, they're the only band I've ever seen! So of course I'm voting for them for that!

I actually like bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Green Day, so I'm glad A7X got nominated, but I've only downloaded four songs because I want to BUY their albums first. Anyone else think like that?

So everyone that are insulting Kerrang! for the bands nominated, just think, the people that vote are the READERS AKA THE FANS. Quit whining about 'Oh, my favourite band should have gone up', because if they're as talented as you and every other one of their fans think, then their fans would have voted.

It's like. I don't get it? Everyone's hating on All Time Low, Paramore, My Chemical Romance... woah. Sorry they don't play metal music and have epic guitar riffs. But All Time Low are my favourite band, Paramore and MCR being joint third, and it's just really upsetting to come on here and see other people who like bands like Bullet (they're my second favourite band, saw them live, then I went to see ATL. Don't get the problem?) and ETF hating on them for their music.

I know it's personal opinion but it's just that I think that some of the people who posted hate get things said to them for liking what they like, so logging on here and seeing hate posted about some of my favourite bands kind of hurts, because I thought that K! readers got each other... obviously not...

@LucyA7X I totally agree with you on the BVB stuff. I heard Knives and Pens and liked the guitars. Not Andy's voice, then I got into A7X and was like 'Okay, the guitar sounds are similar... And seeing as BVB are newer they sound like they're trying to rip-off A7X...'
Besides, Andy Sixx looks like he's trying to copy Tokio Hotel, don't you think?

However, I respect them as much as I respect Justine Beaver. They have potential and a fanbase... Somehow

These nominations may have been voted for by fans, but that doesn't mean that the fans are fans for the right reason does it? All Time Low best live band? That is so fucking funny it's not true. Missed when they sold out Wembley.
Basically though people, don't get so disheartened, if your favourite band wasn't nominated, 'cuz considering the shower of shite that was, I'd suggest that being overlooked was more of a compliment than being nominated.

Kerrang! isn't for emo girls. If it was for emo girls then every page would be advertising therapy classes for the emotionally unstabe AKA you (With the amount that you're whining).
If you don't like K! then don't buy it, don't come on this website (Don't laugh at that innuendo) and don't listen to it. Because it's a surprise that you haven't been reported with how much you're putting these bands down. They have potential. Hell, I don't think I've seen a band promote an album as much as MCR is doing for Danger Days. Before you call me an 'emo tweenie girly' I might be random, but I'm NOT emo. I'm happy, not depressed. And so are the band.
You haters read too much into lyrics by bands and don't even understand the concept of things, like say a band writes about suicide (I don't know any that do apart from FFAF's song Roses for the Dead), that doesn't mean that they're promoting it.

Besides, with all the coverage of the different rock genres, Kerrang! has made them selves more popular, they have more readers because they publish other bands.

And MetalHammer's not shit. I've only read one issue, just because it doesn't publish any shit YOU might like, doesn't mean that it's shit.

Guys never seem to buy Kerrang anymore, the comments round here are mostly by teenage girls, what happened to the long term readers from the 90s or start of the 00s? Oh yeah they got dumped by the fashionista desperate kerrang. Kerrang used to be a magazine for everyone in the 90s when i bought it every week. it covered all kinds of Rock & metal and was open-minded. Where is the coverage of excellent UK bands like Electric Wizard,Fen, 40 Watt Sun, Anaal Nathrakh ,Cathedral,The Wounded Kings, The Meads of Asphodel , Ramesses, Conan,Humanfly,Rose Kemp. Kerrang should be covering these bands along with non uk bands like Boris, Agalloch, High On Fire, Ludicra,Salome, Ulver, Slough feg, altar of plagues, primordial, Deathspell Omega, Negură Bunget just to mention a few bands

Georgina, You clearly do not have a clue what "emo" means. FYI emo was short for Emotional Hardcore. A brand of hardcore punk in the 80s that eschewed macho lyrics for more "emotional" themes. It actually was a derogatory term used by the hardcore kids of the time. But bands like Rites of Spring and Embrace (members of whom ended up in Fugazi) produced some great stuff. 2nd wave of emo was a lot more "indie" bands like Sunny Day Real Estate & Weezer's Pinkerton album. Funnily enough none of these bands were, in your words, unstable. Neither are the current 3rd wave of emo bands. You don't have a clue. But that is hardly surprising when you like rubbish music. ps who said Iron maiden aren't metal? I certainly didn't.

Seriously though, some of Kerrang's readers weren't around in the 90's or they weren't old enough during the 00's to know the music. I remember listening to Busted in the 00's and not hearing of Kerrang! until my brother got obsessed with 'Chav Hunters' (By the power of Kerrang! it is done.)
Even then I didn't read my first K! issue until last year.
Before you say anything about 13 year old emo girls, I'm 15. There, I said it. I'm 15 and more open-minded to different genres than you.
And not every teenager that reads K! Are depressed, or 'normal'. They could be happy or be looking for other rock fans who UNDERSTAND them. That''s who rock fans are supposed to be to each other.

But if you want to pay more attention to bands that no one's heard of, then be my guest. The rest of us will listen to Bowie, MCR, Paramore, FFAF, Smashing Pumpkins, Linkin Park, Sex Pistols, Queen, you name it. The music covered by the magazine, and the people who have made ANTHEMS like Nirvana, Fallout Boy and Queen and Bowie

If you want a metal magazine, buy Metal Hammer or something. Or read a metal website! Ha, Kerrang has a certain demographic these days and it aims mainly at fans of bands like MCR and 30STM because thats what sells magazines! Which is their aim right, to sell magazines. If you don't like it then take your custom elsewhere, its simple.
and @LIAM MCR got bottled at Reading about 6 years ago!!! How is that still relevant? And correct me if I'm wrong but doesnt the singer from BMTH have the most extreme swishy hair of them all!?!

Kerrang, please grow a pair and change the current voting format from reader influenced to a jury of knowledgeable experts with talent and credentials in the field of rock and alternative music. Can be a wide spectrum of people (so your precious 'pop' bands can be represented) but please consider your long term readers and not just your quick buck pocket-money readers.

After 10+ years of buying your magazine, the decline in design, writing quality and diversity of articles has been outstanding.
Instead of being written for like minded intelligent music fans by music journalists with actual taste and talent, it now seems you hired up all the ex-Smash Hits writers when that ship sank. I think this just perfectly reflect the start of the rock music industry. Remember when there was all that hooha about 'rock is dead'? Based on this, they have a point!!!!!!!
All of the bands nominated, with the exception of Avenged Sevenfold, who shine out of that list, might have talent, but they lack anything that makes them exciting or original.
It may just be that I'm an old fogey of 32 but I remember when there was diversity in music, and every new band that started didn't have the song same as the last one with slightly different words. YM@6 and ATL are completely and utterly indistinguishable from one another.
Today to succeed in a rock band it seems you either have to happy, souless pop melodies (YM@6, ATL, Panic etc etc) or have a singer that sounds like a fork stuck in a garbage disposal. Yes Oli Sykes I'm talking about you.
Music might be more accessible now, but that doesn't make it better, and being able to produce and distribute your own music means that shit like YM@6 is inflicted on the masses, and just coz teenage girls think Josh is nice to look at they do well.
Kerrang is a really sad state of affairs now, and this post is my swan song as I won't be reading the mag anymore. The fact that the class 30STM not making an album as news, says it all really.
Enjoy your teen fest ladies and gentlemen, I shall be rocking it up with bands with real talent, real songs and real musicians that you have ignored.

I'm fed up of all the hate comments. Especially to the ones about MCR. My Chemical Romance are the best band ever! They deserve to win everything that they have been nominated for. Gerard is such an amazing singer. All his work is amazing.

Skindred not in for Best Live band? FFS. Skindred are easily one of the best live bands you'll ever see. At least 3 of my nominations for this got through (the obvious - BMTH for best British band, TIAHBMISITIAHLKIAS for best album, ADTR - All I Want for best video). Also I didn't think Blessed With A Curse was technically a single, just a video? That's why I didn't nominate Anthem or BWAC, or any of the others I could've picked.

I'm a huge 30STM fan and I voted for them in every category they are in. I have just one question though: What the fuck is yalls problem with 30STM? They are an amazing band who have done so much for the Echelon. They care about us because we are family. They released This Is War back in December of '09. They have been touring ever since. You guys act like they haven't done shit. Yeah, I agree they get nominated a lot. But, you know why they get nominated so much? It's because they work really really hard and deserve everything they are up for. The Echelon is a big family and I'm 100% positive 30STM is going to win everything they are up for!

Your problem is the Echelon? We are not total psychos. We are a family! At least they care enough about us to give us a name and call us a family! And it's part of the Golden Ticket! The Golden Ticket just doesn't include being able to meet them. Every band charges their fans to go backstage. That's not just 30STM. And just about every single time they play a show, after the show they stand outside and say hello to they fans they didn't have a Golden Ticket. Because that happened to me. Jared, Shannon, and Tomo do everything for the fans. So next time you want to bring up something about whether or not they charge us..get your facts straight!

I have NEVER met a single person that thought BMTH possess even an ounce of talent so how they're up is a mystery to me. It's clear from these results that fans of decent bands, have just given up 'coz they know how far up MCR and 30STM arses Kerrang have their head, so there's no point voting. Which is sad, and really doesn't give an accurate view of popular rock music.
Foo Fighters Wasting Light got to no.1 Hope only managed 27. Says it all really.

There's no excitement or interest in these awards anymore... It's always bands like Paramore that reproduce the same stuff every year and win tons of awards. MCR's new music is also overrated and this is coming from a huge fan.
Young Guns, Bullet, A7x and Enter Shakari really deserve awards though.

What the fuck is yalls problem with 30STM? They are an amazing band who have done so much for the Echelon. They care about us because we are family. They released This Is War back in December of '09. They have been touring ever since. You guys act like they haven't done shit.

Echelon Chris - Machine Head have toured 'The Blackening' since 2007. I'm sure other bands are still touring albums from 2007/08, so this argument is pretty much null and void. What band doesn't release an album, and then tour? Surely every band deserves a nomination on that basis?

30STM aren't doing anything there that any other band does. There are other bands who take time to meet the fans, or do extensive tours, whether its in-store signings, aftershow signings, or just a beer in the venue afterwards. 30STM happen to do so and they don't necessarily have to oblige, so don't take it for granted. They're just giving something back to the fans as I'm sure many bands do the world over.

I think she meant in terms of no of fans. Clearly the Foo Fighters have more, as their album charted at a higher position than The Blackout, yet the Foos are not represented here .
Everybody is making such a huge deal about THE FANS voted, yet clearly they didn't, or Muse would be here, as they have one of the largest, loyalest fan bases on the net. Obviously tho they realised that a band getting no. 1 albums and selling out Wembley isn't enough to guarantee you a nominee if you ain't pretty.
These awards are a beauty contest, plain and simple. They've all been voted for by silly little tweenies that think a bands worth is measured in how hot their singer is. If the silly little girls didn't all cream over Oli Fucking Sykes do you really think BMTH would be on there?
And 30STM were fronted by someone that looked more like Chad Kroeger than Jared Leto do you honestly think the Echelon would still get in such a froth?

I voted for MCR as they are great band, who sound brilliant live. The new Album is outstanding and deviates from the syle of Black Parade quite dramatically. And before you haters all start, I am 39 not a teenager.

I think that it is a crying shame, however, that Iron Maiden did not get a mention in there, at the very least for Best British Band. I grew up listening to them and they just get better each year. At the very least - they should be up for Lifetime Achievement / Icon award next year!

Thetruth - how wrong you are. First of all, I'm from West Yorkshire. But where I am from or where anyone is from is irrelevant. Having been into rock music for the best part of 15 years and counting, encompassing rock, metal and each and every single one of its sub-genres, too numerous to mention, it's fair to say that now I'm slightly the wrong side of 25, I've a little more knowledge and seen and heard a lot more than most who post here. I also had to work damn hard for every penny to afford my record collection and see the bands I've seen in my lifetime.

So get off your high horse, you have no right to assume what sort of person I am, just because I present an argument well and don't happen to jump on the fanboy/girl train. As it happens, yes my favourite bands all rank as metal bands (Slayer, SYL, Gojira, etc...), and yes I disagree with practically all the nominations, but that's not to say I mind listening to these bands predecessors, of whom their quality was immeasurable. It's called having an open-mind; a few people would do well to consider that before tirading against one another.

I don't think anybody doubts the voracity of the Echelons love for the band.
Personally, the reason I'm so naffed off with this, and I'm sure I speak for a lot of other people, is that it doesn't reflect the genre as a whole.
I'm a rabid Lostprophets fan, but I only voted for them once, whereas you lot sit in front of your computers voting multiple times for them, so it's not really fair or accurate is it?
This shouldn't be a contest about fans anyway. It should be about MUSIC. And there is a distinction, which I don't think a lot of the Echelon realise.
Why pride yourself on hating fans of every other band in the world 'coz they don't like 30STM as much as you do. Just appreciate that people differ.
Having pride in dealing with people hating you makes me sad.

I like Lostprophets, so I understand better than you think about people hating on you for supporting a band, and a hell of lot of that hate came from Echelons!!!!!
Pretty much everybody has been thru some dark times at one time in their life or another, and for a lot of people music has helped them thru it.
It ISN'T just people the like 30STM that feel this way, and I guess I just wish that a lot of you would try and lose the attitude that if you don't love 30STM then you don't know what it's like to love a band, or experience animosity.
You lot are nothing special. I don't mean that as an insult, honestly I don't, but your fans, everyone here that's posted is the fan of some band or another, it should be a thing that unites, not that causes bad feeling.
I think it's great that you have such passion for a band I really don't, but please don't think that makes the Echelon superior to all other fans.

If your favourite band isnt there just chill, and listen to their CD. Kerrang now represents this kind of music over metal or Rock and Roll. it changes with the times and picks up new generations.

I really think practically everyone needs to get over themselves. There are some really fucking crazy hardcore fans in these comments who need to understand that not everyone is going to like their favourite band, or even give them the time of the day, and that's just how life is. You're not superior because you like a certain band, and you certainly aren't the biggest fan in the world because of the amount of times you voted for them, or the amount of times you've seen them live or met them. That doesn't make you a better fan than anyone else, not even slightly. Being a fan of a band is first and foremost about loving the music, and fully supporting the band through and through. It's not calculated by the amount of posters you buy, or the amount of times you vote for them in awards - at the end of the day, if you can't appreciate other peple who enjoy the same music as you, or can't appreciate music fans in general, then you're not a very good fan at all. The bands themselves fully understand that people aren't going to like them, they accept it and move on - why can't you?

But as well as this, if your favourite band wasn't nominated in the awards, get over it. This isnt the be all and end all of music - this doesn't determine anything at all if you don't let it. Sure, it sucks your band isn't getting the appreciation they deserve in this particular award, but these things are never going to be fair and unbiased if you let fans vote. As witnessed by the comments, some people wll vote over and over and over again for their favourite band - this is really a skewed perspective of the average Kerrang! reader's opinions on bands, and it will be hard to ever change that really. Just sit back and listen to the music you enjoy and stop whining because other bands have been nominated over your own preferences - it won't change anything now.

On a more positive note, ha, fully supporting Avenged Sevenfold and Panic! At The Disco in this because I applaud the sheer hard work and talent both bands encompass, despite what anyone else really thinks. It is a shame that the last award doesn't really cover the full scope of an "international" band considering I'm 99% sure all of those bands are American, but oh well!

Yes, i'm only 15 and i know that that makes me a "Teeny-Bopper" in some ways. But can't yous just respect the younger fans for liking bands like MCR and 30STM? I mean i like both bands, and i've seen them both live, But i don't think that 30STM should get the awards... MCR deserve some awards, but not so many! And that's from someone who was obsessed with them from the age of 11-12!

So great bands like Foo Fighters and Iron Maiden don't get nominated for best album but them ass holes Bring me the horizon do? That alone sums up how crap this year's show will likely be. Very few of these bands actually deserve their nominations. I hope something decent is inducted into the hall of fame this year, otherwise it will be a really shit awards show this year. Dream Theater, Rush or Bon Jovi would be good picks.

This would be what I would have winning the awards if I got to choose
British Newcomer: Franceqa because their songs are beautiful
International Newcomer: Black Veil Brides because they can take their own style and be awesome, doing great alternative
Best Single: Bring Me The Horizon - Blessed With A Curse because I love the alternative in this music rather than pure scream
Best Video: Young Guns - Stitches because this song is so catchy and it's an amazing video
Best Live: All Time Low because they are lovely guys, so down to earth
Best Album: The Blackout - Hope because out of the albums listed this is the one I listen to most
Best British Band: Enter Shikari because they are amazing. Enough said ;)
Best International Band: My Chemical Romance because they have changed their old style to being pretty crazy but I love it

I totally disagree with the majority of people on here. If the bands you wanted so to be nominated weren't, it's obvious they weren't the best. Fair enough I don't agree with some (the architects and hit the lights should have been nominated) however, being close to people in bends i see just how much time, effot and love they put into every single and every performance. Every band on here deserves an award for making a change in someones life, so keep your hate comments to yourself.

I'm rooting for Paramore all the way. I've been a huge fan of them from the start and I hope they win the best international band category. But, may I say that I like all of the other bands as well. However, I'm on team Paramore this time. Not meaning to offend anyone, but this is what I choose. As much as I want Paramore to win, by the looks of these comments it seems like they won't. If only there would be a miraculous spew of support! Man that would be nice....Oh well. Can't wait to see the outcome and people stop hating. Everyone here is talented. Well adios! @Brooklyn - if you were a real Mayday Parade fan, you'd know they released their debut EP waaaaaaaaaay back in 2006, and as such hardly qualify as 'newcomers'.. I'd agree with voting them as 'Best Live' band though, as they have fantastic stage presence and really control the audience. Same with Rise Against as 'Best Live' band, really.
As for the rest, everyone has their own views, it's essentially down to who has the most fans..
