Joey Jordison pays tribute to Paul Gray

Today (Tuesday, May 24) marks the first anniversary of Slipknot bassist Paul Gray's death.

Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison paid tribute to his late friend on Facebook.

"Hey Paul, it was so great hanging out with you yesterday and today," wrote Jordison. "Talking and reminiscing about old times and seeing you respond with some of the strongest gusts of wind I've ever felt."

"Paul, you always told it like it was," he added. "There was no one like you. That's why you were my best friend. All the music that we've done together, all the times that we've shared, will live on forever. I miss you each and every day."

as a left handed bass player paul inspired me to play bass. i will never forget the day he passed away i was so gutted and upset that my hero has passed away. love you paul i hope your rocking with some ledgends like hendrix, bon scott, cliff burton, keith moon, dimebag darrell etc xxxx

A Year ago we lost a Legendary Icon and as we pay tribute to the Sher Awesomeness of The late Paul Gray and the work he has put into Slipknot for the pass few years.

We miss you Dude, I hope your giving heaven an awesome show with the other legends that are up there with you.

You're a sick, twisted son of a bitch. How can you even say that? A legendary bassist is dead and someone wishes to pay respect to him - what do you do? You just come out with a remark like that. How would you like it I killed your mother/wife and then laughed at you saying you have a drug addiction? Huh? It probably hurts.

And ok, maybe he did do drugs. But if he did, then he did it with Slipknot, the BAND. That's what fame does. But what person are you to actually insult him during a mourning? A pretty sick one.

I hope one day you get beaten on the side of the road by the very same man who you insulted.
