Also in the issue: Al-Qaeda terrorist's secret black metal past revealed, 30 Seconds To Mars discuss those split rumours, Dream Theater get set to make their live debut with their new drummer, and Killswitch Engage's Adam D gets set to go back under the surgeon's knife.

And: The rise and rise of Asking Alexandria, Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows' Craig Owens on putting the past behind him, In Flames' Anders Friden gives us his Road Rules, Black Veil Brides take on the K! Quiz, and Cancer Bats, Machine Head, Paramore and The Blackout reveal their deepest, darkest and most embarrassing secrets!

Nice to see Amy Lee mentioned, haven't seen anything about her or Evanescence in a while.

I think it was obvious that Black Veil Brides would be chosen to do the quiz this week, it's the only thing they havn't starred in so far in K! -_-

i don't have anything against Black Veil Brides, but i'm getting so sick of seeing them in EVERY fucking Kerrang! Honestly they're not even that good, i can see why people like them, but there are much better bands that should be featured

Posted by amie | May 19, 2011 12:19 PM | Reply to this

God this is sickening.. all these fan girls "Yaying" over Andy Sixx.. and Taylor Monson? When theres the mother fucking Prince Of Darkness on the front cover. Ozzy will eat em for Breakfast, literally!

As far as its target readers are concerned, Black Veil Brides are Kerrangs wet dream- perfect to fill the pages each week, while Paramore sorts itself out with new members, or whatever.

I've nothing against them- but yes I too am annoyed at every kerrang kid going OMG over them each week, over-lapping the actual featured cover artist themselves- this week Ozzy, last week Alter Bridge.
Nobody seems to debate on the actual music anymore either-the letters pages used to be all about interesting views on albums, and rock music in general. All people wanna donow is either whinge or wank themselves over Andy Ballsack!!

And you just know that in the weeks leading to their new album, Kerrang will exclaim how it will "take over the world"- and if it does not- well, they'll soon then be relegated to the lower ranks of the live and album review pages. Just like say, Aiden are now. Other than that, nice interview with the Ozzman.

Hey K!
I loved this weeks issue and i buy kerrang every week, but all you guys seem to do is slate Panic! at the Disco. I mean you gave Vices & Virtues 2 K!s and then when you did a live review of them you said their ex drummer was Jon Walker!
Also, you said that Pretty Odd was a disappointing album. You only seem to want their "emo" sound back, when really they never had an "emo" sound, just an emo fans, you guys don't seem to want panic! to be like unoriginal bands like the blackout.
I've been collecting kerrang! for years, but I'm seriously let down by the amount of crap you've been writing about them.

Well, the recent slating of panic at the disco does not surprise me at all---as with just about all of the bands of those scenes- if they release what is considered to be a below par album- or does not do as well with the audience as expected- kerrang slowly relegates them to the lower levels of the class and coverage- meanwhile making way for the same praise they used to encourage on bands like Panic onto newbies like Black veil Brides. Like I said earlier- the same thing happend to Aiden- few years back, when Wil Francis was where andy biersack is now. But when aiden did not take off as intended,we see and hear less and less of them in the mag. The same will happen to BvB if the next album doesnt set the world afire,so to speak. Thats just the way it goes these days. Id rather see kerrang take a bit more chances ,and put bands outside its circle of stars on the cover again- like recently with alter bridge. Years ago- it was more diverse, with everything from punk rock, thrash metal, to classic rock bands making the covers.

I don't understand why theres a story about an Al-Qaeda terrorist in Kerrang! just because the guy has a "black metal past"...
If it had been anyone outside the rock music community that made that connection we would all take offense, case in point: when American school shootings are linked to Marilyn Manson, or when the daily mail blamed My Chemical Romance for the girl in England commiting suicide.
So why is it that Kerrang! not only makes the connection but feels it warrants a 2 page spread in the latest issue?
What relevance is it anyway? Nobody buys Kerrang! to stay up to date on world affairs...
