Congrats for all the bands though, they deserve them, but 30STM do have an advantage of having a million pound deal from Virgin, I believe, so they are hyped quite a bit. Just because you may not like a band doesn't mean that they don't deserve the award they got. Sure, I'm surprised at some of these results, but every one of those bands put hard work into what they do. No matter who got the award, I reckon everybody desrves it.

We Are The In Crowd are one of the hardest working bands I've ever met. Considering they first visited the Uk a few weeks ago, it's great to see them nominated.

There are many 20+ 30+ year olds who like 30 STM, MCR etc. And if your definition of TEEN is those age groups, you better go back to 1st grade! Every band nominated deserved an award, they all worked their hardest. The only one I didn't really agree with was BvB for best international, but that doesn't mean they're a crap band or they didn't deserve it. BMTH deserved best album just as much as the other bands nominated, their latest was a great album. Youmeatsix didn't not deserve the award just because they aren't 'metal.' I didn't really like BFMV's last record, but I'm not calling them crap. ATL deserved best live as well, they are very good live. As for all you saying they aren't, you haven't heard them. Kerrang I hope you read some of these comments, take stock, and change the way you structure the awards next year before your magazine loses every shred of credibility and not just the 95% it already has.
The fact that these bands are voted for by fans means NOTHING. You can have a lot of fans and still be totally shit, how else do you think Bring me the Horizon won an award?
For all the people that say 'these bands deserved to win 'coz they're so hardworking' that is absolute crap, 'coz just as many equally if not more hardworking bands got ignored 'cuz they're singer isn't pretty. Sure, it's nice to see bands you like getting recognition for their hard work, but so what if they didn't win? That doesn't make them any worse, and that doesn't necessarily mean that whoever won is suddenly a musical genius. For example, I really dislike Black Veil Brides, but you'd have to be a fucking idiot not to see that they've changed peoples' lives.

Besides, why focus solely on the negatives? Skindred and Biffy Clyro are more than deserving of their awards, and it's nice to see Kerrang! honouring some more old-school acts.

Asking Alexandria are dyer (not that I have heard them) but just agreeing with everyone else really. I know Tom Shrimpton, the drummer in The Dead Lay Waiting, and that band knocks the living daylights out of any new metal band out there. They should rename the band "JUSTICE, WHAT JUSTICE?"

The awards got mentioned in the Daily Records, Razz "music" page. Its official, Kerrang are going down the shitter.

These awards don't reflect the average music listener though.
I'm 32, and my favourite band are Muse, and I didn't even bother to vote for them 'coz I knew that whatever band was 'in' at the time would get nominated over them.
I'm not going to bitch that they didn't get nominated, because yes, I could have voted. My point is that fans of certain bands just can't be bothered with all this hoohaw, it doesn't mean that All Time Low are better live than Muse, it just means that little girls have their five minutes of squeeing that they helped the band that 'deserved it' get some recognition, then next year it will be another band that sounds exactly the same, that the new wave of tweens are voting for.
The fact that my favourite band didn't win means nothing, 'coz they don't need something as meaningless as this to prove anything. Couple of no.1 albums and two sell outs at Wembley do that nicely.

It makes me laugh reading these comments, all of the 'hardcore metalheads' that want KoRn and all the others to win the big awards, when in reality they're probably just whinging little kids just crossed into teenager-dom. Get over it! The awards are chosen by the public, so obviously the most popular bands are going to win them dumbasses!

That said, I don't understand how Asking Alexandria can get best british newcomer as they aren't new, and also don't really agree with best album or video, but that's just because of my preferences and can understand why they've won.

To whoever said about 30STM's deal with Virgin, yeah they do have a deal but it's their decision to tour almost 24/7 in countries most bands would never go near, and the hype is created by the energy and devotion they put into their shows, and their videos aren't usually bad either.

Personally a bit gutted that Avenged Sevenfold didn't get an award somewhere, but to be fair, they've been away for a while and other than releasing Nightmare they've not really done too much, so hopefully their comeback will reinstate them as one of the biggest bands around at the moment.

The Kerrang! Awards will always get people going, that is why I love them so much. No one is ever going to agree on the outcomes, I didn't want the result for Best Live Band but I respect that others did and good on the band for building a fan base. Equally I love 30STM and MCR so I am happy they won, others will disagree with me. Keep the awards coming year after year Kerrang! They are always great.

There's no 'They shouldn't have won' for anything. They won because they got the most votes, it's fair, stop complaining about it. The awards can't please everybody. For instance, I would have really liked The Blackout to have won something, but they didn't, and you don't see me bitching at Bring Me The Horizon or You Me At Six because they won in the categories they were nominated in.
I'm glad All Time Low won Best Live, they truly do put on an amazing show, and anybody who thinks otherwise needs to actually listen before they judge. The shows are so energetic and Alex's voice is phenominal.

Also, I'm proud that 30 Seconds to Mars won and haters can say what they like about them, but it's not going to change the opinions of the fans. They've changed my life & I could not be happier that they won two awards, because in my eyes they deserved it. But to all you people slagging of Jared Leto, how about keeping your opinions to yourself? You don't have to like him, but respect the fact that other people do, to many he is an inspiration & saying something like 'he deserves to be shot in the head' is rude and unnecessary. Kerrang interviews, reviews and writes about rock bands. You Me At Six and All Time Low ARE rock bands, they also would not have been nominated if they were not. Just because they are interviewing bands that are not heavy metal, hard rock and metalcore does not mean that Kerrang is getting shitting, it means that they are doing their jobs properly and interviewing all types of rock bands, becuase yeah, there is more than one.

I love 30 seconds to Mars and saw them live at the end of last year. There were very many different types of people there, young and old. I went with my husband who is in his early 40s and I am in my late 30s. All their gigs were sell outs. So it's not just teenagers voting for this band.
I also love Def Leppard!

When BvB were vertually unknown, people were going "These are way better than MCR" and now the MCR fan-base have found them, people hate them..... WHAT THE FUCK PEOPLES!!!! Even though I like the bands that have one I don't feel that they should've won, FFAF have put out one of their best albums ever and are just amazing live, and are in my opinion more diserving of Best British Band and Best Live band. There For Tomorrow are also amazing live.

I think this was a good result... people need to stop crying about being disappointed and start appreciating current music. The younger generation don't want to listen to people like Alice Cooper because he's old music and the majority of young people want to listen to new music because its in their era... I know Alice Cooper is a rock legend but frankly, ATL, MCR, AA, BVB, BMTH and 30STM are all recent, so therefore this means that the younger generation will listen to them and are more likely to listen to them. I'm 14 and I listen to stuff like MCR, ATL, Paramore and people like that, and I'd prefer to listen to them because thats how I've grown up. The older generation have grown up with Alice Cooper and others like that and they want them to win awards. Its not a bad thing to win a K! award. If i was famous I'd be happy to win an award because it shows people support my type of music. Now some people really need to grow up and stop hating on the young people. I'm not saying that all young people don't want to listen to music from 20 years ago or so, but most of them won't. Now just be happy for the people that have won the awards, try listening to some of the more recent music, maybe you'll like them. Not the end of the world if you don't. Get over it.

I do like ATL and YM@6 but no way did they deserve those awards, especially over bands like Bullet for my Valentine who are the best live band I've ever seen. Asking Alexandria shouldn't have even been up for best newcomer because they aren't new. I'm not gonna complain about 30stm's wins because they are a very good band and there was no one else in their category that should have won except for maybe BMTH for best single. The most accurate awards were the ones kerrang decided on that had no little scene kids voting.

I've seen All Time Low live once, it was OKAY. I've seen Bullet For My Valentine live 3 times, I'd see Bullet over any band, even All Time Low. All Time Low are great and I love them, but they are not the BEST live band. They did not deserve that award.

All Time Low did deserved Best Live Band. They are amazing live! But OCTANE OK really should have won Best British Newcomer, AA have had 2 albums...

Yes, these awards were voted for by a load of pre-pubescent scene kids who all look and dress the same. They don't know what real music is or what a proper band should sound like.

I love All Time Low (though slightly less now i've head the new single) and 30 Seconds to Mars, but they aren't at the same level as Avenged Sevenfold. You Me At Six did not deserve best british band, in my opinion it should have gone to Bullet for my Valentine. And Hurricane is not even the best 30 Seconds song, so it should not have the best single.

What I find really, really repugnant, is this 'us against them' mentality that so many of you see to have. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion and everybody's is just as valid whether you agree with it or not.
Music is a personal thing, it means different things to everybody, and I'm sure everybody has at least one band that means the world to them, that got them thru some hard times.
That's wonderful, enjoy that instead of spouting hate at other people 'coz they like different bands, and even a different genre of music to you.
There SHOULDN'T be a divide among music fans, it should be a factor that unites and that people actively seek out to hate each other 'coz they like a band you don't makes me really sad.
I'll be honest, I don't agree with ANY of the bands that won, and I think it's heartbreaking that YM@6 won Best British Band when we have real quality bands like Muse and Lostprophets, but I'm not going to start abusing all the YM@6 fans that voted for them.
By all means express your opinion, that's the purpose of these boards, but don't be nasty to other people 'coz they think differently too you.

I'm a big fan of YMA6, 30STM, ATL etc (even went to see the latter two live). But to say that they deserved those awards is a laugh. Enter Shikari are easily one of the best bands in UK, only Bullet come close. And ATL weren't even that amazing live. Their support, Yellowcard, was so much better than them on their last UK tour. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of those bands and I'm happy for them. But they've only won because Kerrang! gets spammed by teen votes. As is happening far too often lately.

Either opinion is valid and everyone has just as much right to express theirs. It has fuck all to do with being bitter that the band I voted for didn't get nominated, but a complete and utter disbelief that so many people have the inability to distinguish quality music from a steaming heap of rhino shite that sounds exactly the same as 99% of the bands out at the moment.

The whole point of these awards is that Kerrang! readers nominate who they want to win and then vote on it, so that the awards are decided by FANS. Evidently, the bands who won have a lot of fans who read Kerrang, and is there anything wrong with that? No. The Kerrang! awards have to represent the feelings of the target market and if that means that 'teen crap' win then it means that Kerrang! readers LIKE it!

There are a lot of magazines more focussed on 'harder' rock and more of these traditional bands you're so bent on winning and so sore that bands like BVB beat, like Metal Hammer, so if you're so discontent go and read those instead. Obviously you're in the minority here, or the bands you wanted to win would have. It's not that hard to understand.

Everyone deserved the awards they got. It's as simple as that. They won because they have fans who want to support them but all you can think is "i don't like that band so this is a joke!" Kerrang! is open to all kinds of rock music. Just because you don't like a band doesn't maen they're bad or that you can decide who wins what on your own. That was the whole point of the vote. It's done now. Get over it.

Avenged Sevenfold didn't get the glory they deserved,they should have won every award they were nominated for. Don't get me wrong i respect bands even if i don't like them,but anyone can agree the results were a complete joke.

No. The Kerrang! awards have to represent the feelings of the target market and if that means that 'teen crap' win then it means that Kerrang! readers LIKE it!

Erm........I would think the fact that so many people are saying how rubbish these results are proves catergorically that most readers of Kerrang DON'T like it.
Whatever way you slice it, these results are a joke, and don't represent the opinions of probably 95% of Kerrang readers.

What MCR only won one awrd gutted no offence to ATL cause their quite good but they aren't the best live band and there are aload of better bands that should of won these awards!

Alice Cooper actually complimented Black Veil Brides. Everyone has an opinion but to be honest you sound like one of those stubborn old fashioned people xD I love Black Veil Brides am I part of a "cult"? No. I'd spit on people who do that. It ruins bands etc. Is it because of their looks? Not in a million years. I take the piss out of Andy all the time just for the fun of it. He is attractive but I love the band for their music. Then I love the members for their personalities, dedication and humour.

There's no point in liking a band if you don't like the music. Don't just assume that the fans are all like that. Because it's a tiny tiny fraction who are.. And ALL bands have fangirls.

Im just going to say congrats to everyone who won.Im a tad dissapointed mcr only got the one but hey at least 30 seconds to mars got a couple which im not complaining about cos im 30stm fan as well as an mcr fan.

Too true much? Green Day are the best live band imo, and they've won the award from last year so much, its pretty obvious.

I'm happy for all the bands that won, even though some of my faves didn't get the awards. Still, the final decision was up to Kerrang, so I don't know why everyone's wailing about 'they've won cos 12 year old girls have voted them'. I'm 14 and I'm not part of some shitty cult! just because you listen to their music doesn't mean you wanna be hem! i think oli sykes looks ridiculously over tattooed, but that's part of him and his persona and I bum off his music, so... and Asking Alexandria are a british newcomer - they're new to BRITAIN! Look it up in the K! dictionary, will ya?!
