Life Of Agony's frontman to become frontwoman?

Life Of Agony have been the subject of online gossip these past 24 hours since the news broke that the band's vocalist Keith Caputo was "transitioning" into life as a woman.

Keith posted a new photograph (below) online and uses a feminine photograph of himself on his Twitter account Twitter.com/KeithMinaCaputo and Myspace.com/keithcaputo.

The vocalist used cross-dressing images of himself in the artwork for his 2008 album A Fondness For Hometown Scars and dedicated the sleevenotes to androgynous people.

A series of recent tweets from the account have attracted attention including the update: "my cuzins even get on me for being transgender, callin me the dumbest names, but it's all in good fun they'll really kill 4 me."

12 hours ago the vocalist re-tweeted a story from MetalInsider claiming the singer was due to get a sex-change. He replied with the message: "Thx for being sweet & respectful..Deeply appreciate it. FYI, I'm keeping my penis!"

Everyone here at Kerrang! wishes Keith Mina Caputo all the best in his transition into a new life.

Is it a hoax? Is it a promotioal hype for a new album or new tour arriving soon? Sorry, but let's face it, it can often pay to be cynical and mostly we are. I am a big fan of his music and L.O.A. too, and Keith has often been seen to be quite camp and androgynous in a Bowie kinda way sometimes, but if that helps, his music might be even better! It aint hurtin no one, and its all about the music ultimately

Well for one being transgender or transexual (depending on use of wording as transgender to many means gender rather than physical sex) is perfectly natural and, in fact, has been in most cultures for over a thousand years.

Persian, Asian, and Austrilasion history are scattered with trans behaviour and attitudes and it is perfectly natural.

Being against homo or bisexualism is as silly as being a racist or whatever. If someone was anti-White you'd say it was stupid, yet, when it comes to prejudice to others it's all 'Hell yeah - they're different and they are wrong'.

I'm more of a man than any homophobe I've met. I'm bisexual and a crossdresser. My partner is perfectly normal in terms of that he dresses fitting usual standards.

Yet, I am more liberal, intelligent, and 'tougher' and 'manly' than any homophobe I've met.

Ignorance breeds hate. Islamaphobia, transphobia, biphobia...these are just a few of the naive prejudices left in British society.

Yes, we don't need bigots to cause hatred, or even, jealousy. Aren't rock fans known for listening to more intelligent lyrics, thoughful and compassionate ways of living? But then in every social tribe there are narrow minded people, who listen to their parents without forming their own opinions. This is her life and she never chose to be afflicted with gender identity disorder. Yes, it's a medical condition you are born with and have NO CONTROL over. She has about as much control over it as you do over your eye colour, your heritage and shit like that.
