Marilyn Manson recruits Shia LaBeouf to document new album

Marilyn Manson has teamed up with Transformers actor Shia LaBeouf to document the making of his new album.

According to reports from Contact Music, the shock-rocker was allegedly impressed with Shia's directing skills on one of rapper Kid Cudi's videos, and asked the Hollywood actor to get involved with recording the creative process of his new full-length.

Chatting on US talk show Live With Regis And Kelly, Shia stated: "He's a real sweet guy. He's an eccentric human being. He lives in West Hollywood above a liquor store. And there's sort of these big metal doors and he opens the door and he's in a kimono, a big pink kimono. It's sort of like a lair.

"There's no lights in the room, so you have to use your cellphone to guide you around," he adds. "We sat and watched movies for a while and talked about what kind of visuals he wanted on his album. Which are all really eccentric ideas. All things I can't really say out loud because this is morning television."

We can't wait to see the finished results!

I saw this yesterday on providermodule.com. I was very suprised that Shia LaBeouf would contribute for Manson's new video, but I never cared much for him since I didn't like the first Transformers film. I guess all we can do is wait and see how the visuals for the new album will turn out soon.

Although I don't agree with what 'ben rist' said, I think 'craig white' is a bit of a hypocrite saying that shit about MCR when he doesn't like people saying shit about the musicians he likes.

But hey, who would have thought Shia and Marilyn working together? Nice one!

My two cents on this - Marilyn Manson is a damn good musician and a very intelligent man. As far as I'm concerned he can do whatever the hell he wants. If he wants to document the making of his new album that's cool, nobody's getting hurt, why shouldn't he?
Not ~entirely sure why MCR got involved in this (although from what I can read, it's a private joke) but hey, they're damn epic musicians too.

...I've now got an indescribable urge to listen to Mechanical Animals. Damn.

Grow The Fuck Up, And Stop Being Petty About Whose Band Is Better. MCR Are My Favourite Band Ever, And I Thnk Maralin Manson Is Alright. And They Have Plenty In Common, So Instead Of Bashing Each Why Don't You Try Find Common Interest. Besides There's Actually Music Thats Offensive And Stuff Out There, So Why Don't You All Complain About That :P

Just to add a third side to this argument; both My Chemical Romance and Marilyn Romance are shite and constitute auditory rape in my opinion. Prefer music when it's about music rather than fashion and shock value.

But back to the article; good on Shia for landing this job :)

Ha ha ha ha, you're blatantly retarded, anyway - if you don't like him fuck off. I guess you actually rely on Kerrang to get you into music.

God Damn... Manson's lyrics aren't for shock value most of his songs have deep political and religion baiting themes.... As for comments on MCR on a page about Marilyn Manson.... Why? If you wana discuss pop music you're better off on a different website. And @Dom.... Too fucking right! haha

Fuck off Adam...Many people understands his music... Maybe you just dont understand him because you're a fucking retard? And My Chemical Romance is gay. But what the hell, maybe that kind of music is the right thing for pussies like you...

I adore marilyn manson - even though he hasn't produced anything of quality since around 2001. He was at his best in between Antichrist Superstar and Holywood when criticising American Christian culture which is radically different to the belief system behind it. The imagery he has been drawing on in the noughties (eg Alice in Wonderland) is passe, overly self-conscious and uninspired. I only hope he is not so destroyed by decades of substance abuse to be unable to rebuild his ideas and bring out his abilities as witty, shrewd social commentator.
