Nick Oliveri in five-hour showdown with L.A. cops

Kyuss Lives! bassist Nick Oliveri was arrested following a five-hour standoff with a Los Angeles SWAT team at his home on July 12.

The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call earlier that evening following a call by concerned neighbours after Nick got into a heated argument with his former girlfriend and prevented her from leaving his Hollywood residence.

U.S. celebrity news website TMZ reported that the former Queens Of The Stone Age bassist refused to allow police officials into his home, nor allow his partner to leave, resulting in a tense two-hour standoff with a SWAT team before allowing her to leave. Two more hours passed before Nick gave himself up to the police.

He was charged with domestic violence and was released after posting $100,000 bail. A date for a court hearing has not been set.

Wasn't a similar situation the reason he got chucked out of QOTSA? Sounds like the guy has a few issues..as rock & roll as this all sounds, beating up women is fucked up.
