Jane's Addiction release statement regarding Reading cancellation

Jane's Addiction were forced to pull out of their Reading Festival performance this evening (August 27) as frontman Perry Farrell was suffering with a sore throat.

"Although Farrell was treated earlier in the day by top London physicians and had his heart set on trying to perform under any circumstance, in the end he was completely unable to produce any sound vocally," reads a statement issued by the festival organisers. "Jane's Addiction would like to deeply apologise to the fans for any inconvenience."

It is unclear as to whether the band will perform in Leeds tomorrow night (August 28). Please check our Twitter @kerrangmagazine for any updates.

nothing to do with them clocking the tent they were to play in was half empty then just minutes before they were gonna play, right?

right, 'whispergal', that's why his wife went to all the trouble of uploading pictures of perry with medicine and tweeting about how he was feeling all day. Because they could see into the future all day and noticed the tent would be empty, right?

I do not believe for a minute that it was the sole reason, I swear festival republic had problems early on as the band wanted more and more money?

I know so many people that were so excited to see this band and if they pulled out for financial reasons then they're a bunch of money-grabbing cocks!

Half empty tent?

That new tent is the size of the O2 Arena, 20,000. What bands this weekend successfully filled that?
