Foo Fighters gave the homophobic religious group Westboro Baptist Church a taste of their own medicine on Friday, when the band performed a country song from a flatbed truck in response to the picketing of the first show on their U.S. arena tour.
The Topeka-based extreme Christian group - infamous for their stance against homosexuality and picketing military funerals - took offence to the band's homoerotic video, Hot Buns, and announced that they would protest outside the band's first date on their U.S. tour show at the Sprint Centre in Kansas City on September 16.
"These people have a platform and should be using it to encourage obedience to God," read a statement from WBC. "Instead they teach every person who will listen all things contrary to him: fornication, adultery, idolatry..."
The band appeared on a flatbed truck dressed as their Hot Buns alter-egos and serenaded the picket line with a tongue-in-cheek country number entitled Keep It Clean (Hot Buns).
"God Bless America! It takes all kinds; I don't care if you're black or white or purple or green, whether you're Pennsylvanian or Transylvanian, Lady Gaga or Lady Antebellum," said Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl during the performance. "Men loving women and women loving men and men loving men and women loving women - you all know we like to watch that. But what I'd like to say is, God Bless America, y'all!"

If you're going to protest with ignorance, prepare to have the piss taken ...

I didn't think I could love Foos anymore than I already did but this has made me love them even more. Love that they had the guts to not only go out and stand up against them, but they did it in their Hot Buns costumes!!! Dave Grohl never fails to amaze me. What a man.

What complete and utter ledgends!!! We need more bands like Foo's!!! Completely bow down to the guys, proud to be a fan knowing that we share the same views (and sense of humour by the looks of things!!!)

Honestly that was phenomenal. I rate the Foos so much for that. Those ignorant douchebags just knew they had been owned. I also loved the guitarist from Rise Against walking around in front of them and laughing in their faces.

Damn those homophobes
i'm not really a fan of foo fighters but being bisexuall i've encountered alot of hate and nastiness, all i can say is that i respect them so much right now. I'm just mad that people can get away with saying and teaching that kind of stuff.

Go Foo Fighters! I laughed watching this! They deserve to have the piss taken out of them. Stupid homophobics don't deserve to be on the same planet as the rest of us human beings.

If West Borough Baptist church were on the ball they would have seen the video to "Low" and would have picketed earlier. Still cant get the image of Jack Black and David Grohl spanking each other out of my head.
